Primary Duties
  • Observes the "General Rules for All Employees" at all times.
  • Tracks and monitors charges of material as they are moved throughout the treating operation, storage, transfer, and drip bays
  • Operates treating cylinders according to the treating cycles set by plant management, that meet or exceed customer and industrial specifications
  • Monitors tank levels, treating cycles, calibration status and accuracy of all other instrumentation related to the treating plant
  • Operates and monitors valves, sets, adjusts, and records readings of cylinder levels, temperatures, and pressures
  • Responds to warning signals and alarms, taking necessary precautions to prevent accidents, injuries, environmental incidents or quality issues
  • Verifies all charge information is accurate on all charges prior to treatment, and treatment meets or exceeds all customer specifications
  • Operates, monitors, and maintains the Wastewater, Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO), and Boiler
  • Performs routine checks and preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment within the treating system assessing for leaks and/or damage while demonstrating comprehension of the equipment and the process
  • Performs minor maintenance and/or troubleshooting as needed
  • Demonstrates the ability to use various forms of technology proficiently for various applications
  • Verifies charges have ceased dripping prior to being released
  • Communicates the status of the facility's treating operations and all deviations to facility management and other site personnel as needed in a concise, timely and thorough fashion
  • Keeps work area clean and free from debris
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Observes all safety rules, regulations, and Koppers Inc. policies
  • Promptly reports all incidents, injuries, damages, or other SH&E issues
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly
  • Inspects the equipment for leaks and makes or seeks repairs when found
  • Accurately completes all associated documentation
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Successfully pass the Treating Technician examinations
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Initial Test and Post Training Test
  • Employees will be able to retest on the initial test after a 6-month time period
  • Medically cleared to wear required respiratory protection
  • Certified as a Pesticide Applicator in the State of Arkansas
  • Understands boiler operation and maintenance
  • Licensed as a High-Pressure Boiler operator in the State of Arkansas
  • Employees will be able to retest after a 6-month time period
