We are seeking a Technology Portfolio Analyst to join our Enterprise Architecture Practice. This role will be responsible for collaborating across all business units and technology teams to define, manage, and promote enterprise technology standards. The successful candidate will drive initiatives that enhance rapid solution development, improve technology reuse, and contribute to cost optimization efforts across the organization. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a clear, actionable, and forward-looking view of New York Life's technology landscape while supporting strategic decision-making.

The role is critical to the success of the Enterprise Technology Services team, reporting directly to the NYL Enterprise Architect. As the Technology Portfolio Analyst you will serve as a strategic partner and advisor to the EA Community and Product/Service Owners, supporting our portfolio of enterprise standard technologies. The ideal candidate is an experienced technologist with practical business process engineering skills who can engage in continuous improvement activities to optimize our technology portfolio. A key success factor is the ability to collaborate with federated teams and shared services organizations. Achieving OKRs related top data quality and technology onboarding processes efficiency are essential outcomes.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to develop and maintain a comprehensive enterprise technology portfolio.
  • Identify and assess emerging technologies for potential adoption, aligning with enterprise standards and strategic goals.
  • Collaborate closely with Application Development, Infrastructure, Security, and Business teams to promote the use of standardized platforms, tools, and services.
  • Define and document enterprise technology standards, patterns, and best practices to accelerate solution delivery.
  • Track and analyze technology usage, identifying opportunities for rationalization, consolidation, and cost reduction.
  • Support the Enterprise Architect in creating roadmaps for technology adoption and deprecation based on business needs and market trends.
  • Maintain the Technology Portfolio Management (TPM) repository, ensuring accurate, current, and accessible information for stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation of executive communications, including reports, visualizations, and presentations that convey the state of the technology portfolio and architecture initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends, vendor roadmaps, and peer activities to inform portfolio strategies.
  • Own and improve the process for the end-to-end journey for new technology adoption NYL.
  • Play the role of concierge in the end-to-end journey of technology adoption focused in improving stakeholder experience and alignment of requests with existing standards.

Business & Technology Skills:

  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong data-driven decision-making approach.
  • Proficient in creating compelling data visualizations.
  • Familiarity with managerial accounting concepts.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in IT Portfolio Management, Enterprise Architecture, Technology Planning, or a related area.
  • Strong understanding of technology domains (applications, platforms, cloud, data, infrastructure, security).
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and standards development processes.
  • Experience with tools such as ServiceNow, LeanIX, Jira, or similar enterprise architecture/portfolio management platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies and roadmaps
  • Experience delivering presentations to senior-level executives and technical audiences
  • Certified Solution Architect, ITIL - Master Certification, TOGAF 9, or Zachman Certified Enterprise Architect.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:$95,000-$162,500

Overtime eligible:Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:Yes

Sales bonus eligible:No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
