Job Description

As the Editorial Director of Digital Experiences, you will lead the editorial vision and content strategy for Visa's digital properties, including our website, mobile applications, and other digital platforms. Your role will be instrumental in driving the creation and curation of engaging, high-quality content that aligns with our brand and business objectives. You will partner with and establish a team of content creators, copywriters and strategists to deliver a cohesive and innovative digital experience.

This individual will work with marketing partners, key global business stakeholders and regional brand and digital teams to successfully bring to life - and evolve over time - customer-obsessed, personalized content to drive awareness of Visa's brand, products and solutions and corporation across Visa's diverse audiences, including consumers, fintechs, issuing partners, acquiring partners, enablers, governments and current/prospective employees. Your role will be crucial in developing and implementing an editorial strategy across flagship digital properties for the Visa Brand, which is currently ranked as the 7th most valuable brand in the world by BrandZ.

Responsibilities

Editorial Calendar Management

  • Establish and manage a central editorial calendar across regions, business units, and cross-functional partners to inform editorial content for flagship platforms like Visa.com.

  • Ensure the editorial calendar aligns with corporate and regional priorities and supports business objectives.

Editorial Governance

  • Establish and manage an editorial governance structure to inform a fixed and flexible content framework.

  • Develop guidelines and best practices for content creation and distribution.

Content Strategy

  • Stay abreast of trends and changes across audiences and content consumption to establish and refine Visa's digital content strategy.

  • Work with Marketing and Business teams to develop short-term and long-term content strategies, including delivery of new tools and resources (e.g., content writing guides, content playbooks, etc.) to enable teams worldwide to develop work aligned with content strategy.

  • Partner with colleagues (including insights and analytics teams) to establish a consistent approach to assess content, optimize our process, report out on the effectiveness of content and execute against optimization and personalization strategies.

Content Development

  • Develop net-new editorial content that is scalable across regions and inclusive of multiple business unit and cross-functional needs.

  • Partner with copywriters, UI/UX team members, Designers and external agency partners to create high-quality content.

  • Partner with Search teams to develop content in alignment with Visa.com's overall Search strategy.

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for content and user engagement, in partnership with data and web analytics team members. Report on content performance to key partners and senior leadership.

Team Leadership

  • Oversee a managed service team of copywriters to deploy and refine editorial content worldwide.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the content team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

  • Influence senior leadership by presenting data-driven strategic recommendations to evolve Visa's editorial and content strategy.

  • Foster a culture of innovation within the team, including providing a point of view on how to appropriately harness Artificial Intelligence to deploy customer-obsessed, personalized and on-brand content at scale.

Brand and Communications Partnership

  • Partner closely with Brand and Communications teams to establish a specific tone of voice for digital properties, including but not limited to Visa.com.

  • Develop and implement enablement tools to scale and govern the editorial approach.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

* 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

* 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD

* Proven expertise in content strategy, digital marketing, and transformation.

* Strong digital acumen and ability to use data to drive content decisions.

* Demonstrated ability to manage complex cross-enterprise projects and processes/

* Global sensibilities and ability to work well with diverse markets and cultures.

* Strong public speaking and communication skills.

* Proficiency in content management systems, search engine optimization and digital analytics tools.

* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic and highly-matrixed environment

* Strong working relationships with external agency partners

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 169,100 to 220,000 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
