Job Summary

Manages and assists principals and other school staff in the day-to-day operations of the Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) buildings. Problem-solves and supports school related issues and concerns to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and students.

Salary: $104,881 - 151,429

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five (5) years of successful, fully-licensed teaching experience within Milwaukee Public Schools.
  • Masters degree in administrative leadership or an education-related field from an accredited college/university is required.
  • A minimum of five years as a licensed principal is required.
  • A car and a valid drivers license required.
Responsibilities

  • Manages and assists with daily operations and monitors individual school budgets.
  • Provides fiscal management guidance to principals/school leaders.
  • Oversees day-to-day school safety and promotes effective school culture/climate and systems.
  • Provides support and resources to schools in emergency situations.
  • Handles elevated transportation concerns.
  • Collaborates with all support services, i.e. transportation, nutrition services, and facilities.
  • Ensures school compliance with operational timelines and requirements, i.e., the budget process and the spring and fall reassignments.
  • Responds to and addresses constituent complaints and builds community relationships.
  • Monitors data including student enrollment, staff, student attendance and suspensions.
  • Monitors school compliance with federal and state regulations and requirements.
  • Performs responsibilities as assigned by Academic Superintendent or the Chief of Schools.
  • Participates in school walk-throughs (SQR-Walkthroughs, Instructional rounds, Building Cleanliness) etc.
  • Provides assistance to and participates in the grievance, non-renewal and misconduct process.
  • Collaborates with Labor Relations to assist with school level investigations.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan.
