M. A. Mortenson Company seeks a full-time Engineer. The Engineer is responsible for a broad range of detailed engineering designs for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and for performing a broad scope of engineering assignments of advanced difficulty requiring knowledge in engineering-related disciplines.

This position requires a Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field plus five (5) years of related experience with creating electrical schematics, designing wiring diagrams, and preparing detail design for Battery Energy Storage Systems design and system sizing for utility scale projects.

Alternatively, this position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field plus seven (7) years progressive, post-baccalaureate experience with creating electrical schematics, designing wiring diagrams, and preparing detail design for Battery Energy Storage Systems design and system sizing for utility scale projects.

Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: (1) troubleshooting, conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and creating Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures; (2) generating reports, including BOM, cable schedules, and ampacity studies; (3) modeling the DC and AC low voltage cable design per the National Electrical Code (NEC); (4) working on at least two Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects simultaneously focused on the design of substations or renewable projects; and (5) working with the following software packages: AutoCAD, Microstation, and Bluebeam.

In addition, this position requires passage of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Electrical and Computer Exam.

Will accept experience gained before, during, or after Master's program. All experience may have been gained concurrently. Telecommuting available from anywhere in US. The base pay range for this role is $128,814 - $159,900. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
