Hamilton is the corporate and administrative backbone of three inter-related manufacturing companies: Elevator Safety Company, Inc. (ELSCO), Air Techniques International (ATI), and Dirt Killer Inc. From an operational perspective, the Hamilton organization provides shared services support for all three subsidiary companies in areas such as finance and accounting, human resources, quality assurance, information technology and supply chain.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Supply Chain has corporate responsibility for all procurement efforts, including direct materials spend, indirect materials spend, and contract management with suppliers and service providers. The Director of Supply Chain sets the strategic direction for cost-savings efforts in connection with our operations and engineering teams, negotiates and maintains favorable terms with all suppliers and service providers, and builds and maintains a diverse supplier base for all critical material sourcing needs. Additionally, the Director of Supply Chain provides leadership to tactical purchasing, facilities and warehouse/shipping teams.

Primary responsibilities include:

* Develops and maintains the procurement strategy for each Hamilton entity and provides leadership and coaching to Materials Manager/Supervisor on staff.

* Sets the cost savings strategy for Hamilton by using supplier optimization practices to analyze and improve the performance of suppliers.

* Ensures the integrity of Hamilton's Supply Chain by adopting supply chain resiliency practices that will allow Hamilton to withstand disruptions while maintaining business continuity and customer satisfaction.

* Develops processes for identifying and vetting new suppliers and maintaining and building relationships with existing suppliers.

* Understands any incoming material quality issues and works with suppliers to correct and/or find new/additional or alternate sources.

* Ensures clear terms and conditions are established with all key suppliers and negotiate competitive pricing and terms while increasing quality and inventory turns.

* Develops the process for identifying and vetting new suppliers as well as maintaining and developing relationships with existing suppliers.

* Remains current on key commodity prices impacting raw material costs and seek to insulate Hamilton from swings in pricing where possible.

* Establishes and ensures usage of standard RFP/RFQ process and structure, for all major purchases, including capital expenditures.

* Ensures accurate and effective use of ERP system to send demand signals for direct material spend.

* Leads materials management teams to ensure accuracy of inventory, incoming and outgoing shipments, and manage inventory levels using Lean methodologies.

* Develops visual scorecards to communicate internally and externally regarding inventory levels to plan and identify risks within the supply chain.

* Sets the strategy for supply chain sustainability efforts throughout Hamilton.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Background and Skills Required:

* Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing, Engineering, Supply Chain or Business Administration

* 10+ years of supply chain and/or operations leadership experience

* 3+ years' experience performing at the Senior Management level

* 5+ years' experience with ERP data management

* Demonstrates technical acumen to support decisions with data

* Collaborative, open-minded communication style and demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with suppliers and employees across every responsibility level

* Experience in Lean cultural and management philosophies

* Strong negotiation skills

* MS Office, MS Teams, MS Excel and ERP software experience

* Has the ability to read and understand engineering drawings, diagrams, and bills of materials

* High degree of "fit" with Hamilton stated purpose and cultural values

* Ability to regularly travel to suppliers, up to 15% of the time

Additional Background and Skills Preferred:

* Master's degree in business administration or related field

* Related experience in a manufacturing environment

* Experience managing INFOR ERP tools (Cloud Suite Industrial or Visual)

* Related industry/role-specific certifications, including Lean

* Experience with government contracting

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

* This is an in-office position with occasional ability to work a hybrid schedule

* Our business hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

* Relocation is not offered at this time.

* Ability to hear team members and vendors

* Visually inspects materials on occasion

* Verbally gives direction to team members

* Mostly sedentary work, but some walking is required in a manufacturing setting

* Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
