JOB SUMMARY:

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist duties include scheduling, receiving, inspecting, and shipping raw materials and finished goods in the warehouse.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:



  • Confirm delivery request with shipper and schedule appointments in JDE Truck Schedule.
  • Schedule deliveries based on priority, dock space, and final storage space to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Inspect shipments to ensure quality specifications are within standard.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to fill out nonconformance forms and reject damaged material.
  • Reviews deliveries and materials against Bills of Materials and receive as inventory.
  • Scan purchase orders, bill of ladings, delivery receipts and driver check in forms into the T drive.
  • Review and correct receiving or warehouse item transfer transaction errors.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to schedule and receive transfers from other Rockline facilities.
  • Review ST/OTs for accuracy or duplicates and correct any shipping errors in a timely manner.
  • Operate forklift, clamp truck, and slip sheeter to receive, ship, or transfer materials within the warehouse.
  • Work with Material Handlers to ensure deliveries are consistently received on time.

This position is designated as Safety-Sensitive (a safety-sensitive position is one in which the associate's inability or impaired ability to perform their job-related tasks could result in a direct threat to the associate's safety or the safety of others).

This position is designated as Product Security Sensitive. (As a product sourcing facility our customers require Rockline to possess security standards and procedures to guard against the introduction of unmanifested cargo, such as illegal drugs, explosives, weapons and people into outbound shipments. This position has contact or influence over these "outbound" shipments and is considered Product Security Sensitive.)

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential accountabilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.)



  • High School diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years warehouse experience.
  • Forklift experience and certification
  • Familiarity with transportation scheduling or dispatch systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Detail oriented with ability to keep detailed documentation.
  • Motivated self-starter, time management and good communication skills.

  • Continual sitting for at least 8 hours.
  • Occasional standing and walking when emptying trash hoppers, cleaning, changing stretch film and other duties.
  • Frequent climbing off and on to forklift.
  • Constant reaching and twisting while driving lift.
  • Use of hands to operate forklift, scan product, use stretch film, rearrange loads on pallets, and use of pallet jacks.
  • Pushing and pulling of loaded pallet jacks, lever for trash hopper, truck trailer doors, dock plates etc.
  • Continuous coordinated use of eyes, hands and feet while driving.
  • Constant use of hearing and vision to hear fellow employees and alarms.
  • Vision includes peripheral vision.
  • Occasional carrying and lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to wear PPE, including hair net, beard net, smocks, gloves and any other as required for job
