Job Description:

The Method Transfer and Validation Scientist I: supports laboratory activities associated with new products from both internal and external clients. The MTV Scientist I participates in the assessment, documentation, and troubleshooting associated with the qualification of new analytical procedures; provides analytical testing support for pre-commercial manufacturing activities; and provides training and testing support to other Quality Control Scientists involved in routine testing using qualified procedures.

The Method Transfer and Validation Scientist II: participates on project teams for new products from both internal and external clients. The MTV Scientist II completes assessment, documentation, and troubleshooting associated with the qualification of new analytical procedures; provides analytical testing support for pre-commercial manufacturing activities; and provides training and testing support to other Quality Control Scientists involved in routine testing using qualified procedures.

MTV Scientist I:

  • Analyze raw materials, in-process, final container, and stability products according to established procedures, and as directed by the supervisor.
  • Record and review data in accordance with GxP to meet regulatory requirements and provide information relevant to product disposition.
  • Perform studies to assess product or procedural problems under the direction of the supervisor.
  • Assist in other forms of troubleshooting/investigations as directed.
  • Maintain training compliance on all procedures.
  • Adhere to all aspects of plant safety programs and in keeping with GMP's or other regulations.
  • Maintain and operate laboratory equipment in accordance with procedure.
  • Review qualification protocols/acceptance reports and standard operating procedures on new or existing QC material testing requirements as directed by the supervisor.
  • Participate in the assessment and qualification requirements of new analytical procedures according to established procedures and regulatory guidelines.

MTV Scientist II: In addition to above

  • Demonstrate proficiency in core analytical assays.
  • Perform special assignments as directed by the supervisor.
  • Write qualification protocols/acceptance reports and standard operating procedures on new or existing QC material testing requirements as directed by the supervisor.
  • Evaluate and determine the qualification requirements of new analytical procedures according to established procedures and regulatory guidelines.
  • Serve as a QC Representatives on multidisciplinary internal or external client project teams as directed by Supervisor. Participate in direct internal and/or external client interactions.

Qualifications:

MTV Scientist I:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology or related hard science OR,
  • AA degree in hard sciences
  • 1 year's lab experience required with BS degree
  • 2 years' related lab experience required (e.g. environmental, pharmaceutical, food, medical) and 1 year's pharmaceutical lab experience with AA degree
  • Pharmaceutical experience desired
  • Method Transfer and Validation experience desired
  • Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge, practical application and understanding of the sciences are necessary to perform the functions of this position.
  • Must demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of chemistry, statistics, computer-assisted data processing, and good manufacturing practices desirable.
  • Must be self-motivated with good communication and human relation skills, and must be able to effectively schedule, prioritize, and organize their time.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work in a team setting supporting project teams as a Quality Unit representative.
  • Accountability - freedom to act independently -is subject to practices/well defined policy, management reviews results after the fact.
  • Accountability - influence on end results - provides analysis, diagnosis or production tasks which noticeably impact end results.

MTV Scientist II: in addition to above

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology or related hard science OR AA degree in hard sciences with 3 years of solid lab experience
  • 1-year lab experience required with BS degree.
  • 3 years' lab experience required with AA degree.
  • Must have an ability to utilize scientific literature, and to make effective written and oral reports that are clear, accurate, and logical.
  • Knowledge of chemistry, statistics, computer-assisted data processing, and good manufacturing practices is required.

Shift: Weekdays Mon-Fri

Compensation & Benefits:

This is an on-site, full-time position located in Spokane, WA.

  • Hiring Wage depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises. See full list of benefits below for our complete compensation package.
    • MTV Scientist I: $27.01 - $36.53 an hour.
    • MTVScientist II: $30.00 - $40.59 an hour.

Midpoint and above is reserved for employees who have longevity with Jubilant HollisterStier and consistently exhibit outstanding performance over a period of time in the role
