The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Job Profile Summary:

The Senior Lead Skills Transformation Strategist plays a pivotal role in driving the transformation of WGU and partner organizations towards skills-based practices that unleash human potential and create pathways to opportunity for WGU students. Expertise in change management, project management, data standards, digital credentialing, record technologies, and skills-based practices are critical in helping WGU and partners achieve successful implementation and adoption of transformational projects.

Senior Lead Skills Transformation Strategists are subject matter experts in skills-based practices, technology, and workforce intelligence. As a trusted advisor to both internal and external stakeholders, this role provides expertise to navigate the challenges of change and unlock the full potential of every individual in their career pursuits. Innovation and commitment to excellence will drive the development of creative strategies and innovative solutions that improve efficiency and elevate levels of service to make a meaningful impact on the future of the learning and earning ecosystem.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality project and resource management within the parameters of assigned projects to ensure the timely completion of high-quality deliverables that meet customer goals and expectations.
  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional project teams in complex problem-solving to tackle wicked problems and find innovative, scalable solutions.
  • Deliver excellent change management strategies to achieve project outcomes, customer satisfaction, and goal attainment.
  • Act as the voice of the customer using stakeholder needs analysis and active listening to deliver on customer needs, goals, and expectations.
  • Execute excellent relationship management with customers to build trust, confidence, and organizational reputation.
  • Provide strategic consultation and project direction based on experience and trends to meet customer goals and objectives.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, standards, and technologies, to provide digital transformation and process innovations that achieve customer goals with innovative, scalable solutions.
  • Provide thought leadership and strategic consulting support to ensure successful implementation and adoption of skills transformation initiatives, digital credentialing strategies, and learning and employment record technologies.
  • Use systems thinking and strategic storytelling to break down complex problems and associated solutions into a clear and concise strategy that aligns with project goals.

Job Qualifications

Education

  • Master's degree in a related field or discipline required, or
  • Ph.D. or terminal degree in a related field or discipline.

Experience

  • 4 years of professional experience in addition to a master's degree, including
  • 2 years of experience in an educational institution or education technology company, or
  • 2 years of professional experience in addition to a Ph.D. or Terminal Degree.
  • 3 years of skills implementation experience preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of training, experience, credentials, or accomplishments demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of this job may substitute education degree requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • May occasionally travel to attend team training or participate in thought leadership.

Position & Application Details
