Wieland is hiring a Supply Chain Administrator. The Supply Chain Administrator will be responsible for managing and optimizing our supply chain. This role involves working closely with external customers and internal teams (operations, commercial, and finance) to ensure system accuracy of non-ferrous metals. This role is located in Granite City and will be fully on-site. While this role is local, occasional travel to other locations will be required (15-25% travel). Base Salary Range: $122,026 - $183,039/year May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be based upon various factors unique to each individual that may include but are not limited to years of eperience, industry knowledge, technical skills, education, qualifications, etc.
Responsibilities
Supply Chain Administrator Responsibilities:
Analyze and interpret supply chain data such as shipment and delivery times, costs, and inventory levels
- Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
- Evaluate and report on key metrics and performance indicators to internal stakeholders
- Identify and recommend cost-saving or profit-maximizing opportunities within the supply chain
- Use predictive modelling to forecast future demand and procurement needs
- Coordinate with other departments to identify vulnerabilities and close operational gaps
- Create complex reports, analyze and interpret logistics data, then develop strategies based on findings
- Coordinating with other departments such as sales, production, and finance to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of products or services
- Implementing new technologies or systems to improve and streamline supply chain processes
- Assessing and managing risks to supply chain operations due to potential disruptions or variances
- Monitoring and adjusting supply chain activities to meet changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies
- Work with/Partner with Weiland RR Supply Chain cohorts to achieve a seamless inventory/sales plan
- Approve all metal receipts for release in the assay file. Maintain accuracy and timeliness.
- Settlement approval for various customers
- Approve commercial advance and commission requests.
- Close purchase and sales contracts when completed.
- Manage consignment account with intercompany sites (if applicable)
- Problem solves and correct errors for the commercial department and operations team
- Train incoming personnel on the utilization of the database referencing Standard Operating Procedures
- Collaborate with operations, commercial and finance team members to ensure adherence to standard operation procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supply Chain Administrator Qualifications:
- 10+ years' experience in Supply Chain Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferably in the metals recycling industry.
- Experience in accounting, purchasing, pricing, commercial is preferred
- Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Advanced delegation and follow-up skills.
- Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills with ability to influence effectively.
- Good reasoning, conflict-management, and analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work effectively with employees, peers, and leadership as well as corporate support team members, and the local operations team in a productive collaborative environment coupled with the ability to be decisive is needed.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies or conduct root cause analysis in workflows and implement improvements to streamline operations strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to use data analytics to make informed decisions and produce reports on operational performance strongly preferred.
- Ability to identify underlying issues in operations, such as errors, or inefficiencies and implement solutions.
- Continuously explores new tools, technologies, and best practices that can drive operational excellence.
- Identifies skill gaps and provides training to ensure staff is well-equipped to perform their tasks efficiently.
- Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve complex problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft office, including Excel; able to analyze data and use formulas (recent versions necessary). Expert knowledge of Microsoft Access required.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and navigate through ambiguity.
- Advanced data entry and organizational skills.
- Effectively communicate (oral and written) with team members and customers. Ability to work well with others.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
- Be a safety champion by promoting a safe and productive workplace through your own actions, including the proper use of PPE, safe operation of powered equipment and safe lifting techniques as determined by the role.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
