The grinder operator is responsible for the operation of the grinder to grind meat and to weigh matching blend cards. Ensures work is completed in a safe manner and within the Food Safety and quality parameters established.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES AND TASKS:

Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:

  • Responsible for safe operation of fresh grinder to deliver a product that meets the customers' expectations.

  • Machine setup and shut down.

  • Confirm product on the schedule is correct and ready to run.

  • Verify product and POs prior to dumping product from combo into the auger hopper.

  • Input required data and record weight of product in Condor / Vision.

  • Inspect product for foreign material.

  • Perform plate / blade checks and document results/findings accordingly.

  • Must complete end of shift inventory of raw cooler and freezer.

  • Follow GMPs, Safety and Quality Assurance rules and procedures.

  • Must wear required PPE.

  • Follow allergen control procedures.

  • Ensure proper housekeeping throughout shift.

  • Report any concerns to a member of management.

  • Must be certified to operate any PIT.

  • Must be LTT certified and follow all LTT procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret general instructions.

Must be able to physically perform 8 and 10 hours a day.

While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Many pieces of equipment making noises at the same time. The noise level in the work environment is sufficient to cause the worker to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level. Personal Protective Equipment is required.
