Group Manager II - SBA
This position is responsible for the overall management, sales and strategy, financial performance and compliance of the SBA lending division. This includes the oversight of the SBA loan portfolio, the origination, packaging and closing of SBA loans, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory and SBA requirements. The role also entails direct leadership of the SBA sales and operations team delivering high quality client service, and supporting SBA lending activity across all bank markets.
Position Responsibilities:
SBA Lending and Portfolio Management


  • Oversee the performance and quality of the SBA loan portfolio.
  • Ensure compliance with loan policies, guidelines, and SBA regulations.
  • Partner with credit administration.
  • Monitor portfolio credit quality and take appropriate actions to manage risk.
  • Assist SBA advisors with structuring and analyzing new and existing credits.
  • Manage collateral sales, loan payoffs, and daily client service needs.


Origination and Lending Support


  • Originate, package and close SBA loans in accordance with bank policies, and SBA guidelines.
  • Support business development efforts across lines of business.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance to maintain the SBA Guarantee and the Bank's Preferred Lender Program (PLP) status.
  • Maintains relationships with portfolio clients and serves as liaison for specialty SBA lending matters.
  • Ensure teams execute timely and accurate delivery of loan documentation and client requests.


Regulatory Compliance and Program Oversight


  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all SBA Lending matters.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and ensure department-wide adherence with fluid SBA regulations.
  • Ensure completion of all compliance-related training by staff.
  • Achieve satisfactory or better results on all internal and external audits and examinations.


Leadership and Staff Management


  • Provide day-to-day management of SBA's sales and operations staff. Lead team coaching, training, development, and performance management. Responsible for talent management.
  • Ensures the team delivers a high level of service and support to traditional lending groups.

Position Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Business or Finance
  • 10 years or more of Lending experience
  • 5 years of Management experience

Work Best Category: Category B - 3-4 days in office on designated days/1-2 days remote Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
