Clinical Integration Specialist

Location: Hybrid/Remote

McKesson is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Integration Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for all clinical integrations for the RetinaOS products. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of proven work expertise in database integration, scripting, and clinical data management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end clinical data exchange projects for ophthalmology software products at McKesson
  • Develop and maintain integration solutions to ensure seamless, secure data flow between external clinical systems and RetinaOS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data requirements for clinical integration.
  • Design, implement, and optimize database integration processes.
  • Create and maintain scripts for data extraction, transformation, transfer, and loading processes.
  • Manage integration security, including rotation of passwords, certificates, and testing of integrations and data feeds
  • Ensure data integrity and security in all integration activities.
  • Monitor existing data feeds and respond to data integration issues promptly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues in a timely manner; work with external and internal parties as needed for problem resolution.
  • Discover root causes of problems and find appropriate solutions; escalate as appropriate and work with cross functional teams to find solutions.
  • Provide technical support for integration and training to internal teams and external partners.
  • Assist with data mapping and discovery, feed modification, and testing for new and existing integrations.
  • Onboard new customers and establish production data feeds. Work with customers and third parties
  • Communicate effectively and transparently via all modes of communication (verbally, email, presentation, etc.).
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in clinical data integration.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
  • Occasional travel required. Must possess a valid driver's license.

Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent and typically requires at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Informatics, or a related field.

Critical Skills

  • Excellent technical and operational problem-solving and analytical skills, with a "customer-first" mindset.
  • Minimum 2 years of proven work experience in clinical data exchange,integration and management.
  • Minimum 2 years of proven work expertise in database integration (SQL expertise required) and scripting languages (Python and PowerShell expertise required).
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with GitHub ticketing platform and cloud logging systems.
  • Minimum 2 years experience with cloud-based integration solutions; AWS experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with clinical data exchange standards and terminologies (e.g., HL7, FHIR, CPT, ICD-10, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Proven work experience with clinical data exchange methods in a cloud environment, including transfer of information via API, HL7, files, data extracts, etc.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be knowledgeable about HIPAA, HITECH and related regulatory requirements for healthcare data.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with RetinaOS or similar healthcare software products.
  • Experience with AWS
  • Knowledge of healthcare information systems and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Problem solver mentality

This role requires 10% travel.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$37.75 - $62.91
