Reporting to the Human Resources (HR) Manager, this position is responsible for leading the plant hourly talent acquisition and onboarding functions. This role will also have responsibility for areas of employee engagement, recordkeeping, compliance, employee relations, benefit administration and employee communications. RESPONSIBILITIES - The following details the job responsibilities that the Human Resources Generalist will be performing. Please note that this is not an all-inclusive list of the job duties that may be required. -Lead all components of the hourly recruiting process (screen applicant resumes, perform phone screens, schedule and conduct interviews, disposition candidates, extend offers and manage the pre-employment process). -Prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate smooth plant hourly new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience. Deliver the human resources orientation on company policies and programs. -Source candidates through various channels including devising new methods of sourcing to increase the candidate pool and applicant flow. -Develop talent acquisition strategies to attract, recruit and retain top talent. -Provide counsel to employees on benefit plan provisions. -Maintain employee personnel files for active and terminated employees in accordance with company policies and government regulations. Ensure company record retention requirements are followed. -Disseminate employee communications through various channels necessary (i.e. electronic displays, postings, comm portals, e-mail, etc.) -Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements. -Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve the employee experience. -Track and update HR related employee training records, follow up and coordinate make-up training sessions -Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in HR, talent management and employment law. -Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations and recommend best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. -This person is also a contact for plant employees needing assistance/direction for health benefits, FMLA documents, etc. -Participate in planning employee events (i.e. Golf outing, bowling outing, Quarter Century Dinner, and holiday party) EDUCATION: -A bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field is preferred. A two-year degree combined with related on the job experience will be considered. -SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is a plus. QUALIFICATIONS: -Prior experience with recruiting is required. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus -Strong computer skills are needed (Microsoft Suite, Share Point) -Experience or knowledge with an HRIS system and applicant tracking system is beneficial (ie. UKG Pro, iCIMS) -Experience or knowledge with an FMLA leave use tracking system is beneficial (ie. Absence Soft) -Accuracy and attention to detail -Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral -Ability to work well with others and build relationships at all levels of the organization -Ability to always act with integrity and professionalism due to the sensitive information the Human Resources Department handles -Ability to convey a positive and professional image to applicants and employees -Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with demonstrated ability to balance priorities and follow through -Excellent administrative and organizational skills -Must possess the ability to work independently, problem solve and use good business judgement -Must maintain discretion and strict confidentiality with company and employee information -Travel may be required to participate in local career fairs or other Human Resources related events and training Equal Opportunity Employer
