Manager, Global Public & Media Relations

JOB SUMMARY

The Global PR and Media Relations Manager develops and executes a global public relations strategy that helps shape public perception, enhance brand credibility, and influence key stakeholders across media and healthcare audiences. This role requires exceptional strategic vision, leadership, and creativity to drive integrated PR initiatives and high-impact media strategies ensuring alignment with corporate objectives. The successful candidate will be a proactive storyteller, an expert in global media landscapes, and a trusted advisor to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities include shaping the company's global PR strategy, including media relations, thought leadership events, alignment across social media, executive positioning and speaking opportunities and analytics-driven PR measurement. This role will drive PR content strategies and best practices that engage audiences across digital and traditional platforms while strengthening the company's presence in key global markets and ensuring regional alignment. Crisis communication and reputation management are another important aspect of this role.

The position reports to the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications and is a member of the Global Corporate Communications team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES



  • Develop and execute a global public relations strategy that contributes to and even shapes industry dialogue, elevates brand credibility and fosters strong relationships with key stakeholders across media and healthcare audiences
  • Adapt PR strategies for different geographies, with sensitivity to cultural nuance and relevance.
  • Lead proactive internal cross-functional collaboration to align PR strategies with broader business goals
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with top-tier global media and industry influencers to drive sustained brand visibility and positive coverage
  • Develop and implement creative storytelling initiatives, leveraging multimedia, digital-first PR, industry influencer partnerships, to amplify reach and engagement
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing strategic counsel on media positioning, public perception, and executive communication strategies
  • Oversee executive-level PR activities, including thought leadership, speaking engagements such as podcasts and panels, media training, and high-profile industry events
  • Act as a company spokesperson and manage media inquiries to ensure accurate and positive coverage
  • Write and edit press releases, articles, and other PR materials, ensuring messaging consistency across media channels
  • Lead the selection and manage the relationship and work of external PR agencies and consultants to enhance media engagement and campaign execution


ADDITIONAL DUTIES



  • Develop and manage crisis communication plans, leading proactive reputation management, risk assessment, and crisis response strategies


  • Leverage AI-driven media intelligence tools to analyze sentiment, measure impact, and drive data-driven decision making and refine PR strategies for maximum effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain a PR metrics framework, establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess media impact, message resonance, brand visibility, and reputation management.
  • Ensure that leadership and cross-functional teams have clear insights into PR performance, enabling data-driven decisions that support business objectives



MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Experience



  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Public Relations Manager or in a similar PR role, with a track record of managing global PR initiatives and executive-level communications
  • Extensive experience in media relations, including print, broadcast, and digital platforms, with established relationships with industry journalists
  • Proven experience in managing corporate reputation, crisis communication and executive PR activities
  • Experience integrating PR with digital strategies, social media platforms and emerging media technologies
  • Strong knowledge of regional PR considerations and the ability to adapt strategies for different international markets



Skills



  • Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and creativity to develop compelling, high-impact PR and media relations initiatives
  • Strong leadership and influence skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and advise senior executives
  • Outstanding writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Deep expertise in storytelling, content creation, and digital-first PR strategies
  • Proficiency in media intelligence tools (e.g., Meltwater, BuzzSumo) and data-driven PR measurement methodologies
  • Crisis management expertise, with the ability to navigate complex public affairs challenges and protect corporate reputation
  • Ability to work independently while excelling in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously



Education

Bachelor's degree in public relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field required

Target Pay Range:$95,500.00to$119,400.00 -Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data

Target Bonus on Base:10.0%
