Senior HR Business Partner

Your role and responsibilities

The Human Resource Generalist enhances the human resource experience for all employees by providing best-in-class employee and manager HR support. The HR Generalist is an on-site local resource supporting employees and managers in US MO Traction business located in Mechanicsville, VA. This role will also support a repair center in Hackettstown, NJ.
The work model for the role is: onsite. #LI-Onsite
This role is contributing to the Motion Traction group in Mechanicsville, VA.
You will be mainly accountable for:
The HR Generalist will educate employees and managers on the HR self-service options in order to help them leverage those tools and resources, when appropriate, that also support the HR experience.
The Generalist will support the business by executing HR related projects and initiatives with the support of the HR Business Partners to drive efficient work allocation, effective workforce management, system navigation (Workday, UKG pro, others) and people and talent management activities.
The position will uphold a high standard of compliance with internal guidelines and procedures and a spirit of superior customer service and ongoing continuous process improvement.
Support HRBPs with annual cycles and special projects such as job architecture, data maintenance, AIP assignments, succession planning, talent development, etc

Qualifications for the role
  • 5 years+ of related HR experience and bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or related field - OR 7+ years of related HR experience and an associate's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, problem solving and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, policies, practices and procedures.
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel (V-Look Up, Formulas, Dashboard framework).
  • Candidate must currently possess a work authorization that would legally permit them to work for ABB in the United States.
  • Candidate must have availability for quarterly business travel to Hackettstown, NJ repair center.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • PHR or SHRM-CP Credentialed
  • Experience with Workday HRIS and UKG Payroll.
