Job Description

The Senior Health Care Data Analyst is responsible for leading the analysis of complex healthcare data to support clinical and business decision-making. This role requires expertise in regulatory program requirements and healthcare data, including medical claims, electronic medical records, and health outcomes data. The Senior Analyst works collaboratively with leaders and cross-functional teams to identify insights, develop reports and dashboards, and provide recommendations to support strategic planning and drive strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the collection and analysis of complex healthcare data from multiple sources, including medical claims, electronic medical records, and health outcomes data.
  • Develops and maintains advanced data models and algorithms to support data analysis and reporting
  • Analyzes data using summary statistics and visualizations to develop reports, dashboards, and scorecards.
  • Researches CMS Value-Based Programs and regulatory accreditation standards to develop or validate mission critical outcome measure algorithms
  • Reviews, summarizes and advises decision makers on changes to clinical quality standards and regulatory rulemaking. Makes recommendations to improve outcomes, reduce operational costs, minimize payment reductions, and maximize value-based incentive payments.
  • Identifies and troubleshoots data quality issues and work with stakeholders (both internal and external) to implement solutions.
  • Develops and maintains process documentation, including steps to recreate, maintain and refresh data for reports and dashboards.
  • Serves as project lead; managing multiple projects; ensuring timely completion; setting and overseeing stakeholders (both internal and external) expectations.
  • Evaluates and implements new data analysis tools by comparing vendors, overseeing implementation, and hosting training.
  • Maintains and grows vendor relationships by reviewing contracts, updating the departmental budget, suggesting strategically aligned and innovative product enhancements, and serving as the organizational subject matter expert.
  • Mentors and trains analysts and provide guidance on data analysis techniques and best practices.
  • Ensures compliance with data privacy and security regulations.


Qualifications

  • 2 years Working as Health Care Data Analyst II Required
  • 5 years Leveraging information systems to analyze and present data Required
  • 2 years Experience in a healthcare setting Required
  • 4-6 years Experience in healthcare preferred
