Department OverviewThe Software Enterprise Deployment and Integration team delivers solutions to the public safety sector. We are committed to providing technology and tools that will allow customers to focus on their mission and enable them to respond faster with smarter and safer decisions. The Director leads the Project Management and Solution Integration team, delivering NextGen 9-1-1 projects to our public safety customers. The projects contained in the NextGen 9-1-1 portfolio include large Statewide, Regional, and major Municipal Public Safety Applications, including ALI Location Services, Emergency Call Handling, and next-generation 911 Core Routing solutions. Overview:

This is a leadership position responsible for Project Managers fulfilling customer contracts by delivering NextGen 9-1-1 Location, Routing, and Call Handling solutions. The role requires the leader to stay current on industry developments and understand the competitive and economic environment in which the organization operates. They must come up with ideas that are outside the norm, identify and question assumptions, challenge conventional thinking, and be confident in leading the business in new directions. The Director openly collaborates within their team and other departments to accomplish organizational goals, ensuring all teams succeed. They provide clear and consistent feedback, encouragement, and development guidance, evaluating individual performance regularly based on clearly communicated goals and objectives. They are energized in the face of challenges, make bold moves, and take calculated risks, challenging the organization and people to be the best they can be. The Director can cut to the heart of complex situations to achieve clarity and base judgment on facts without undue deliberation. This leader anticipates and responds to customer needs by seeking and acting on their feedback and ensuring that the staff values the customer's perspective.

Desired Background/Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience or 15+ years of experience managing complex deployments and/or software application deployments in a Public Safety environment is preferred.

  • Experience with delivering NextGen 9-1-1 Location, Routing, and Call Handling solutions is a strong plus.

  • Established relationships with the State & Local Government and Public Safety market with demonstrated participation in industry groups (APCO, NENA, IACP, PMI, etc) is desired.

  • Contributor to policy decisions about the NextGen 9-1-1 solutions, associated processes, methodologies, tools, and techniques.

  • Demonstrated experience participating across the value chain; Opportunity development, Sales, Product, Delivery, Support, and ongoing Operations desired.

  • Expert in project management methodologies, approaches and their broad application to diverse customer environments.

  • Ability to influence others at all levels, including those not under direct control.

  • Leader and role model to other Project Management professionals.

  • Project management skills: ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to assess skills and evaluate the performance of engagement or project teams/members.

  • Understands organizational resources, priorities, needs, and policies.

  • Acute business acumen and judgment. Expert business problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with other professionals, customers, and third parties.

  • Continually develops skills and knowledge. Role model for others.

  • Coordinates activities and direction through highly matrixed relationships.

  • PMP and/or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) strongly desired.

  • Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining relationships with high-level customers.

  • Ability to work independently and maintain accountability to management.

  • Exceptional negotiation skills and supplier relationship management..

  • Extensive expertise in product, technology, service, strategy, and business complexities.

  • Demonstrated ability to interface with senior leadership, key internal/external organizations, and governmental bodies.

  • Directly manages development costs, cost of capital, and cost allocations for programs directly tied to significant future revenue.

  • Demonstrated ability to travel extensively (50%>).

Target Base Salary Range: $145,500.00- $272,800.00 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business discipline and 10+ years of project management or similar business experience and 8+ years of experience in a people management position.

  • Or 15+ years of project management and people management experience or similar business experience.

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Please note that employer sponsorships for work permit is not available for this position.
