Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY: The Communications Supervisor assumes 24 hour seven day a week responsibility for the operations of the switchboard. Responsibilities include working as a receptionist, providing supervision to all receptionists, their schedules and switchboard coverage as needed. Complete performance appraisal, counseling and disciplinary actions in conjunction with the Communications Director, oversee employees and environment to ensure compliance with departmental and hospital safety policies and procedures. Orient new hires to the department, create, implement and evaluate improvements for the reception/lobby area and systems for improved communication.

Responsible for efficient and effective patient and telephone reception within the Hospital. Provide courteous greeting and information to all callers. Record messages for medical staff and ensures prompt delivery of message. Greet clients in the reception area. Monitors lobby and exits.


Qualifications

Education: High School diploma

Experience: Experience preferred

Licensure/Certification: None

Knowledge: Working knowledge of Hospital safety policy and procedures. Excellent communications skills
