Position Summary. Performs advanced neurodiagnostic studies to include Nerve Conduction Studies and assisting physician during needle EMG and EEG studies to patients of the practice and the clerical duties associated with these procedures. Procedures may be performed on adolescent through geriatric patients in the exam room of physician practice. Depending on market need, this role may also be responsible for the following patient care needs: intraoperative monitoring, nerve conduction studies, sleep studies, magnetoencephalography, electroencephalography, transcranial doppler, etc.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Licensure, Training & Travel Requirements

• 3-5 years experience in nerve conduction studies and assisting the physician with neurodiagnostic studies is required.
• Graduate of an Electroneurodiagnostics technology program.
• License or Registration Requirements: Certification in neurodiagnostics from accredited school. College level courses in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology preferred. Must take and pass a basic arrhythmia course. BLS certification by the AHA required.
• Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, math and electronics with specific knowledge of peripheral nervous system, muscles and neuromuscular diseases. Precise identification of waveforms and artifacts, knowledge of conduction velocity, amplitude and latency values. Must be advanced proficient in medical terminology. Must successfully demonstrate neurodiagnostic competencies required.
