Position Summary

The vCIO will be responsible for leading and managing Sikich teams to deliver exceptional IT services and solutions. They will own client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and fostering collaboration. The candidate should excel in project management, guiding teams in achieving goals and maintaining high standards of service. Regular local travel is required, with occasional overnight travel ranging from 5-10%. In addition to technical knowledge, strong communication skills and leadership abilities are essential for maintaining client trust and successfully managing team dynamics. (Ohio or Illinois based)

What will you do in this role?

  • Own client relationships for Northeast Ohio or Chicagoland, and other national region IT managed service clients.
  • Learn business goals of owned clients and provide ongoing strategic IT alignment via regular cadence meetings and check in or heartbeat touches.
  • Own the preparation of annual capital and operating budgets in collaboration with sales and within Sikich standards for each owned client relationship.
  • Manage approved budget items in collaboration with client and Sikich sales, project and NOC teams.
  • Prepare for regular cadence client meetings following a standard detailed checklist and methodology, including supporting documentation provided by sales and NOC, including review of completed tickets. Identify patterns in completed tickets in support of providing strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Assign client requests and proactive work as needed based on regular cadence meeting follow up and ad hoc client requests.
  • Hold NOC, project and sales teams accountable via a matrix relationship. Act as a liaison to ensure smooth handoffs between sales, project and NOC teams.
  • Assist as an escalation resource for all client issues. Provide directions on both technical and communication to help maintain best-in-class customer service.
  • Review customer service and technical feedback with individual team members in collaboration with NOC and project team managers.
  • Work with sales, NOC and project team managers to provide input for continual improvement of standards, documentation, and processes.
  • Use strong customer service skills (good organization, clear helpful communication, and timely response and resolution) to help maintain best-in-class customer service.
  • Assist in the onboarding and documentation of new Managed Services clients. Participate in kickoff in collaboration with NOC manager and onboarding lead and hold an initial post go live review to monitor Sikich performance and measure client satisfaction.
  • Help clients understand how to access and work with the NOC initially and on an ongoing basis.
  • Track time and document effort in our PSA.
  • Participate and contribute to continuous improvement of service delivery processes.
  • Assist in vendor escalation and interfacing as required for various products and services.
  • Create and update documentation around vCIO best practices and technology standards at all Managed Services clients.

What do you need to succeed in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 10+ years of technology consulting and/or technology executive/leadership experience.
  • Provide pre-sales proposal review to ensure solutions fit client ask and align with client business objectives and Sikich managed client technology standards.
  • Managed Services experience, including PSA and RMM tools, preferred.
  • Experienced in management/support of multiple dissimilar client environments with the goal of finding efficiencies through standardization and best practices.
  • Act as a translator for business needs to technology solutions and technology solutions to business value. Ability to relay business needs and whiteboard with a solutions architect. Understanding and communication skills to articulate business value of technology to non-IT executive stakeholders at clients.
  • Desired conversational level technology experience/understanding includes:
  • CRM/ERP Applications
  • Network configuration and network hardware: routing, subnetting, NAT, firewall management and firewall, switch, router and wireless
  • Windows AD, Exchange Administration, DNS, DHCP
  • Windows Server and Client OSEs, Microsoft Office, Office 365 Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Azure IaaS & Azure AD/SSO.
  • Modern appliance-based and cloud backup solutions.
  • Hyper-V and VMware
  • Storage including SAN and NAS
  • Imaging/workstation deployments and Windows Autopilot/Microsoft Endpoint Management
  • SOC and SIEM
  • Vulnerability Scanning
  • Security Awareness Training
  • Cybersecurity Incident Response
  • Regular local travel
  • 5-10% overnight travel

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the midpoint of the salary range for this role is $135,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
