NATURE AND SCOPE
Reports to the Sr Manager, Compliance Quality Assurance. Serves as part of a team that completes mortgage quality control reviews. Responsible for carrying out the day-to-day activities in accordance with the company's Quality Control Pan. REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of underwriting, auditing, quality control/assurance or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2. Knowledge of policies, principles and practices of mortgage loan processing and underwriting. 3. Knowledge of banking and credit union standard financial operations, policies, and procedures. 4. Experience or understanding of mortgage quality control in accordance with investor guidelines preferred. 5. Knowledge of federal banking regulations and any applicable state laws. 6. An ability to identify loan underwriting deficiencies and determine proper remediation for such deficiencies. 7. Demonstrated experience balancing multiple priorities and managing a variety of projects in a high-volume work environment with the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines. 8. Strong attention to detail and proven analytical, problem-solving skills. 9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the proven ability to work across various departments and levels in an organization. 10. Ability to use independent judgment and discretion in various situations while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality. 11. Ability to review, understand and interpret investor and company guidelines and other industry guidance. 12. Must develop an in-depth understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position. Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all job-related state and federal laws and regulations. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Completes quality control reviews, including re-underwriting of loans, in accordance with company and investor standards. 2. Works with and monitors third party vendors to ensure outsources quality control reviews are completed, communicated and issues resolved in accordance with the company's Quality Control Plan. 3. Responsible for ensuring the required number of loan files are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with the company's Quality Control Plan and investor standards. 4. Responsible for determining the defect type and rating in accordance with company and investor standards. 5. Responsible to monitor the pool of defects and identify repeat or recurring defects. 6. Responsible to work with Lending Management on repeat or recurring defects. 7. Responsible for timely written communication of quality control review results and ensure any defects are properly addressed, cleared, and/or escalated. 8. Performs written communication to Lending Management regarding quality control review results and recommended actions. 9. Ensures the company's Quality Control program is always up to date on internal loan credit policies, underwriting guidelines, products, and investor guidelines. 10. Prepares ongoing reporting regarding quality control at the company to Lending Management. 11. Implements and maintains procedures, workflows, job aids, templates, and forms, as assigned. 12.
