This position is responsible to perform maintenance and repairs on various types of diesel/heavy equipment to keep them in safe working condition. Will need to display a professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members.

The typical schedule is M-Th 12pm-10pm with a 30-minute lunch break. Friday 8am-6pm with a 30-minute lunch break. Pay starts at $29.40/HR and up depending on experience.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS



  • 2 year post secondary education in the diesel technician field or related experience a plus.
  • Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays.
  • CDL a plus


DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Responsible for performing maintenance and repairs of a significant nature on all types of equipment and/or assisting with repairs/improvements/maintenance of equipment to assure it is in safe working condition.
  2. Safely operate equipment, standard and specialty tools, welders, hoists and other lifting devices, etc. on a daily basis.
  3. Troubleshooting equipment maintenance problems to properly diagnose components to determine method and extent of repair necessary.
  4. Read, interpret, analyze and apply information in technical manuals and schematics.
  5. Anticipate needed parts and supplies, disassemble equipment and parts, fabricate parts when needed and reassemble equipment and parts.
  6. Use cutting torch and perform welding tasks.
  7. Clean work areas.
  8. Fill out shop repair orders daily.
  9. Drive and maintain mechanic's truck.
  10. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written). Frequent contact and communication with others within and outside the company.
  11. Self-motivated, team-player with excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work independently or in a team setting; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
  12. Proven experience handling multiple projects and priorities while maintaining tight deadlines; highly organized with attention to detail.
  13. Accurately complete work orders or other maintenance repair documentation.
  14. Ensure OSHA, DOT, MSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  15. May be required to operate and maintain company vehicle to perform field service repair then operate repaired equipment to ensure proper working condition after repairs have been completed.
  16. Responsible to provide own basic hand tools, pneumatics and some specialty tools. A tool allowance is available.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned.
