GENERAL FUNCTION

This position will manage the Company's leave of absence and disability programs for North America.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Manage all leave policies and disability programs in accordance with Federal and State employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, PDL, etc.).
  • Serve as subject matter expert for HRBPs, the business, and employees regarding the Company's benefits / LOA programs.
  • Manage the vendors responsible for leave of absence and disability.
  • Lead Job Fill Review Committee. This includes reviewing the status/claims requests for job fills and making recommendations.
  • Manage LOA workstream for integrations in North America for newly acquired and legacy EssilorLuxottica companies.
  • Manage complex and escalated leave/disability issues.
  • Researches, leads and implements changes pertaining to paid state leave programs. This requires partnering and coordinating work efforts with the compliance, benefits, payroll and legal teams.
  • Manage the development or enhancement of benefits/LOA communications to employees and HRBPs.
  • Collaborate and build strong partnerships with other areas of the business such as payroll, HRIS, employment counsel, compliance, etc.to drive results.
  • Monitor effectiveness of existing practices and recommend changes that are consistent with leave trends and company objectives.
  • Manage and administer (as needed) state disability claims, LTD claims and terminations.
  • Manage the reconciliation and audit processes of leave and disability programs. Resolves discrepancies with third-party vendors and payroll.
  • Manage denied leaves and terminations as part of the LOA process.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance/Accounting or related discipline
  • 3-5 years of employee benefits experience with at least some of the time working in leaves of absences/disability
  • Strong knowledge of leave program regulations including FMLA and ADA
  • Vendor management experience
  • Intermediate skill in Excel
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to plan and set priorities
  • Ability to drive change and influence HRBPs and business leaders
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • 5+ years of leave of absence experience
  • Previous experience working with SAP HCM and ADP Global View
  • Previous experience working for a multinational company
  • Strong vendor management experience including managing SLAs
  • Strong leadership skills including managing others and vendor partnerships
  • Demonstrated experience improving and simplifying processes

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
