Your Role in Our Success At PFERD as a Regional Sales Manager (Western US Region), you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing a field sales force to meet Company sales and profit goals; to recommend, develop and implement strategies to ensure future growth in their geographic region by working and traveling with the assigned Territory Sales and Independent Manufacturers Reps. What you will do
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performance Sales team that is proficient in opportunity management, professional selling, and business processes.
- Collaborates with Senior Managers in establishing and recommending realistic sales goals.
- Manages Regional Sales Team to maximize sales revenues and meet corporate objectives.
- Establishes and manages effective programs to compensate, coach, appraise and train sales personnel.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PFERD policies, procedures, and terms of sale in order to provide timely and accurate information to customers.
- Develop a business plan that identifies and prioritizes opportunities in order to optimize the deployment of sales resources.
- Implement and support a disciplined sales process to include target account planning, accurate forecasting, opportunity, and pipeline management.
- Optimize expenditures within an annual operating budget.
- Build senior-level management relationships with key customers and key buying and marketing groups
- Identify and address unique customer requirements with business units and internal sales support functions.
- Utilize knowledge of competitive strategies and processes to develop a unique value proposition and position PFERD as the vendor of choice.
- Provides monthly, quarterly, and annual results assessments of sales staff's productivity and sales numbers to senior management.
- Other duties or special projects as assigned.
What you will need
- College degree or equivalent with 7 to 10 years of progressive Sales experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership and entrepreneurial skills, a record of success leading sales teams to profitable growth
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; SAP and BI experience a plus
- Team player as well as an individual contributor
- Sales experience working with both direct and independent manufacturer's sales representatives
- Knowledge of industrial MRO, welding, and construction distribution channels a plus
- Travel: 65%
