Job Summary:



Would you like to work with young families and their babies? Would you like to learn great communication skills and increase your knowledge of parenting, maternal health, and baby development? We are hiring a group facilitator for the Pregnancy and Parenting Partners PLUS (P3+) group at Young Mothers Clinic (YMC) at Children's Hospital of Colorado. P3+ is a type of well-child care offered at YMC and includes:



  • Monthly visits at the same day/time for one year starting when baby is 2mo. (12 total)
  • Medical exam at every visit with the P3+ provider (well-child check, well-woman visit, or brief check-ins as needed)
  • Self-check-in of baby vitals at every visit with support from a medical assistant (weight, height, etc.)
  • Group discussion and activities with other parents who have same aged babies using the P3+ curriculum. Some examples of topics are parenting, baby development, post-partum health, goal setting, mental health and wellness
  • Occasional "community meetups" outside of group to socialize


P3+ group facilitators work with a diverse team of healthcare providers, educators, and researchers who are passionate about supporting young families. P3+ group members create lasting relationships with other members and get lots of information and resources based on what they need. P3+ groups are fun, educational, and supportive. P3+ facilitators help to create the environment that allows this to happen AND learn a lot in the process!

Key Responsibilities:



  • Participation in the 8-hour P3+ facilitator training, CHCO volunteer training, DANCE training, and monthly ongoing support. Other trainings may be requested as needed.
  • Recruitment support for P3+ groups may include on-site face-to-face recruitment and phone call follow-ups.
  • Preparation of program materials and supplies (printing, assembly, purchasing).
  • Perform duties related to general group logistics (reminder calls, offsite visit scheduling, room set-up and clean up, supplies organization and storage, for example).
  • Provision of at least one 2-hour P3+ group per month and one offsite "community visit" per month. This includes co-facilitation of topics included in the P3+ program curriculum.
  • Basic data collection and management in the form of surveys and short observations.
  • This job will require approximately 10-12 hours per month and approximately 15 hours per month in training months.

Work Location:



Onsite - For this role, you will primarily work onsite at the Young Mother's Clinic at Children's Hospital of Colorado. You will also be expected to attend P3 training at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in the Health Sciences Building. Occasional meetings via Zoom or Microsoft Teams will also be expected.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year of paid or volunteer experience in a health care, childcare, non-profit, community organization, or directly related setting.
  • Past experience as a P3+ Participant.


Conditions of Employment:



  • Personal vehicle and up to date registration/driver's license. This job will require you to travel to different sites such as the University of Colorado Hospital and Children's Colorado Health Pavillion and may require you to pick up and carry basic supplies with you.
  • Must be willing and able to pass a criminal history and sex offender registry check to work with minors.
  • This is a part-time position, which is expected to work 15 hours/week during the initial training phase and then move to a 10-12 hours per week schedule.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in human subjects research in a health or social science related field
  • Experience working in child and family health, health disparities, or group medical care
  • Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Offices Suite.
  • Ability to use a computer. Paperwork, payment procedures, and communication with P3+ team occurs via email and zoom meetings.
  • Knowledge of parenting skills and healthy child development.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to work well with your P3+ team and any other employees at CHCO or CU that you may encounter.
  • Dependable both for your co-workers and for the families participating in the P3+ program.
  • Commitment to on-the-job training and ongoing support.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary for this position has been established as $18-25/hour with an average of 10 hours/month.

The above salary represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
