THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Treasury Department's Bureau of Fiscal Review is seeking a dedicated Senior Audit Manager to oversee our audit team and ensure the highest standards of financial integrity. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Senior Audit Manager, you will perform pre-audit processing of expenditure documents, review expenditures approved by Fiscal Examiners and Special Auditors, and finalize errors. Your primary responsibilities include supervising a team of 14 audit staff members, ensuring their growth and development through formal training and coaching; and overseeing Quality Control Reviews to ensure timely completion and address findings with the staff. Additionally, you will develop and implement an annual audit plan and update manuals to reflect operational changes and analyze complex invoice and contract issues, recommend changes to policies and controls, and produce reports highlighting issues and potential solutions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. Management may discontinue the telework arrangement at any time, for any reason. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Certification as a Public Accountant and five years conducting the financial review of documents for compliance with federal and state laws, rules and regulations and two years in a supervisory capacity;
  • A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.

Condition of Employment:

  • Maintain a valid CPA license

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be currently licensed as a Certified public Accountant (CPA).
  • You must have extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • You have at least five years of experience conducting financial reviews for compliance with federal and state laws, rules, and regulations.
  • You must have spent at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
  • You must have experience using Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, web-based utilities or the ability to learn relevant software to perform job duties.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Experience and/or knowledge of the principles of auditing and government accounting
  • Experience prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines effectively and in assigned timeframes
  • Possess a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently on assignments
