JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Department of Mathematics, in the Eberly College of Science, seeks to hire an undergraduate teaching assistant for Math 140B (Calculus with Applications to Biology) for Summer 2025 to serve as a peer learning assistant and to assist with student outreach and support.
This position includes the following duties:
  • Assistance in developing guidelines and support materials for Math 140B/141B Learning and Teaching Assistants
  • Review and feedback to instructors in design of lab and writing assignments for Math 140B and Math 141B.
  • Review and feedback of in-class materials.
  • Other aspects of course delivery.
The ideal candidate will have experience serving as a learning assistant (LA) in a mathematics course, experience as a student or LA in a course using a specifications or standards-based grading system, strong communication skills and an interest in supporting student learning and success.
