Overview

ATCC, a leading nonprofit biological resources and standards organization, is seeking a remote Senior Licensing Associate with some travel required. This role involves managing a portfolio of commercial use inquiries and in/out-licensing opportunities, negotiating agreements, and supporting Senior Management. Prior life science licensing experience is required.

Responsibilities

Licensing Operations:

    Manage day-to-day operations of the commercial licensing program to generate revenue.
  • Prioritize and handle out-license opportunities and identify potential in-licensing and out-licensing opportunities.
  • Conduct research to identify and qualify potential licensees.

Agreement Negotiation:

  • Negotiate and draft complex licensing agreements following guidelines in accordance with ATCC mission and business strategy.
  • Review and negotiate other collaborative agreements (CDAs, MTAs, MDAs, Amendments).

Data Management:

  • Track the licensing process from initial contact through execution.
  • Accurately input data in the licensing database and provide regular updates and reports to Senior Management.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years' experience or equivalent experience.
  • Licensing and life science experience with complex license negotiation required.
  • Prior business development experience including strategic and proactive outreach to customers.
  • Demonstrated license negotiation and legal agreement drafting skills.
  • Scientific degree or prior experience in the life science industry required.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program.
