Join the Dynamic Team at the Thoracic Oncology Collaborative Hub (TORCH) led by Dr. Carbone Position Overview: TORCH is looking to fill a couple of positions for Student Research Assistant 3 in the laboratory of Dr. Carbone. As the director of the James Thoracic Center, Dr. Carbone has a research lab and mentors multiple PIs. He also participates in multiple collaborative research and clinical projects. Together we make up the Thoracic Oncology Research Collaborative Hub (TORCH). Our group focuses on lung cancer research and translational therapeutics, including immunotherapies. This position will initially include extensive hands-on training in molecular biology techniques as needed. As a Student Research Assistant 3, after initial training, this position will be more independent, not just that of supporting lab members. By getting to know the projects, lab members, and PIs, as well as your own interests, it is possible to move under the direction of another TORCH PI. This position will work to complete their own project based on their interests and/or work with a PI (senior lab members) in obtaining preliminary data for grant applications or completing manuscripts. Opportunities for Students: We are committed to supporting students in discovering their passions and advancing their educational and career goals. Depending on time and interest(s), students are encouraged to pursue their own projects and apply for grants (if applicable). Motivated Individuals: We seek driven individuals who thrive in a team setting and who are passionate about supporting our mission to understand lung cancer mechanisms and develop innovative treatments.
