About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Vendor Research Analyst (Contractor) to support the Technology Vendor Management Team within the Office of the CIO. The team manages the full vendor lifecycle to maximize value and minimize risk. The primary responsibility of this role is to evaluate existing software and hardware suppliers' contracts to identify opportunities for cost savings and ensure alignment with our Technology and Product strategy. Additionally, this position will research and document potential new vendors to assist our Software Review Board in their analysis. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to develop and implement cost-saving and risk mitigation strategies.

You will play a key role in our mission to Empower Smarter Technology Decision Together by working with our stakeholders and cross functional partners, implementing our vendor governance processes, tracking project milestones, managing documentation, collaborating with partners across the organization and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across the technology vendor ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Evaluate existing contracts with software and hardware suppliers to identify opportunities for savings.
  • Analyze supplier performance and contract compliance to ensure conformance with Technology and Product strategy.
  • Develop cost-saving strategies, including but not limited to consolidation, co-terming, and product replacement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand technology needs and align supplier contracts.
  • Monitor market trends and supplier information to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings and recommendations for executive-level stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports on potential and existing vendors to assist our Software Review Board.
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier contracts and metrics.
  • Find data and contracts in our systems.
  • Research and maintain vendor master.
  • Identify and collect data for better executive reporting.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in vendor management, contract analysis, or a similar role.
  • Broad knowledge and experience with software development as well as both horizontal and vertical applications suppliers and products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft O365.
  • Experience with Oracle EBS, ServiceNow, and Zylo PowerBI is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.


Reporting Structure:


  • This position will report to the Senior Manager, Technology Vendor Management in the Office of the CIO.
