Central Marketing Services is a growing and transforming team, with the ability think outside the box to bring the latest in marketing, design, and proposal techniques to Merrick. We envision our team as one that is at the cutting edge of marketing and creative, not just within the A/E/C industry. Our overall team encompasses both the proposal/business development lifecycle and the marketing/communications function. We value new ideas and the ability to translate ideas into proposals and other documents. We prioritize continuous learning to drive us to be the best at what we do. We're an inclusive team that values difference and believes collaboration creates the best deliverables. Our proposal team is an integrated part of our marketing team, and we all work together to support each other, balance workload, share ideas, collaborate on the best ways to present information, and to make sure we're all developing in our skill sets and careers. You'll interact with your peers on the marketing team every day. We're each other's core team, and we work across all of Merrick's business units. We think this is the best way for our proposal team to be just that...a team! It's also the best way that we can make sure that you are supported, always learning new things, flexing your creative muscles, and advancing in your career. Our team works a hybrid schedule with remote/home days and in office days with a flexible schedule to meet both your needs and our company's needs. Occasionally work outside of Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, is required, because of the deadline driven nature of proposal work, but we offer flexibility around that so you can continue to balance work with life! We want you to think critically about the proposal document and evaluate how effectively the win strategy is communicated throughout. Your responsibilities will include writing copy, editing, and proofreading; researching internal documents to aid in creation of proposals, project descriptions, and resumes; maintaining Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database and ability to obtain applicable data from the system; proficiency with PC-based software including advanced skills in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Word; and competency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat. A bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or communications is preferred. Experience in proposal strategy and preparation for the architecture/engineering industry is preferred. Our proposal coordinators are team players with positive attitudes, who possesses excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in teams with a wide range of personalities. We'd love for you to join our team if you are self-motivated, able to take initiative, able to work independently, reliable, able to carry projects through to successful completion, and flexible enough to shepherd multiple contributors with varying schedules through the proposal process. You'll also need to perform well under deadline pressure, while working with multiple levels of internal staff and teaming partners. We work with many different personalities and working styles, so excellent communication skills and the flexibility to modify your communication style to work with others effectively and diplomatically is required. The proposal coordinator researches, writes, edits, proofreads, and produces proposals, statements of qualifications, resumes, and project descriptions in compliance with various requirements, schedules, and budgets. Primary responsibilities include development of effective and competitive proposal concepts; optimizing the written and graphic content mix, while ensuring accuracy and quality; maintaining CRM; and upholding company branding standards. Coordination is frequently required with staff graphic artists for proposal graphics. Other responsibilities include preparing for and participating in kickoff meetings and strategy sessions, coordinating with external teammates, leading and capturing proposal review meetings and recovery, and researching information for and maintaining the marketing database.
