Senior Compensation Consultant (Remote)

Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following locations: North Carolina or South Carolina.

This position is responsible for the design, strategic direction, and management of compensation programs within the Bank. Provides guidance to lines of business on incentive plans that attract, retain, and motivate associates, overseeing every stage from development through delivery. Creates and maintains compensation structures in alignment with wider strategic plans and governance practices. Develops complex solutions for identified issues, collaborating with business leadership and HR partners to ensure compensation efforts are competitive, effective, and compliant with industry regulations.


Responsibilities

  • Business Strategy - Provides consultative expertise to ensure compensation efforts align with wider Bank strategy and business objectives. Works to develop key leader offers and the resolution of competitive pay issues. Assists in the evolution of compensation programs, policies, and processes with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Compensation Planning - Designs compensation structures in collaboration with senior leaders, HR partners, and wider business units. Analyzes internal and external data to create appropriate plans, utilizing pricing tools, financial reports, and market surveys as needed.
  • Program Management - Evaluates, implements, and monitors compensation programs. Directs program delivery and communication with associates and senior business leaders. Oversees survey administration and manages compliance of FLSA reviews, audits, and incentive pay regulations.
  • Change Management - Leads compensation projects associated with the expansion into new markets, mergers and acquisitions, integration, and divestiture activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of experience in Compensation, or Human Resources, or Finance OR High School Diploma or GED and 11 years of experience in Compensation, or Human Resources, or Finance

Preferred Area of Experience: Compensation Program Design and Governance

License or Certification Type: Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)

Preferred Skill(s): Knowledge of compensation program design and governance

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent consulting, influencing, collaboration and partnering abilities with business executives/leaders and HR partners in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and data/information management skills.
  • Strong technical skills; Advanced MS Excel and proficiency with other Microsoft applications
  • Experience with Workday, Pay factors and UKG

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Compensation consulting experience within financial services, preferably within a large financial institution
  • Compensation or Variable Pay Program Design and Governance or directly related discipline
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Must be able to work independently on assigned duties while successfully collaborating in a team friendly environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are important as multi-tasking is essential.
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
