What you will do:

As a critical part of the team, the Commercial Installer works onsite with our commercial customers to set up and program their Integrated Security, Access Control CCTV, Fire Alarm and Security Systems. The Commercial Installer also dismantles and reconstructs equipment when necessary.

How you will do it:

  • Installs appropriate devices; dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
  • Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
  • Adheres to safety standards and local and national codes, with a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
  • Maintains appropriate local and National Fire / Security Industry Certifications.
  • Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Continuous proactive customer interactions including an in-depth understanding of customer(s) needs wants and systems currently in place.
  • Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify the schedule.
  • Prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor.
  • Follows proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
  • Assists in monitoring project execution per plan. Reports problems or changes to supervisor or management.
  • Test's operation of the system is to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
  • Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
  • Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls.
  • Completes paperwork and on-site documentation as required.
  • Performs self-study (reading, research, and practice) to obtain technical proficiency on required products and applications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • May manage installation teams on larger projects.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
  • Travel required, using company vehicle and equipment.

What we look for:

  • Home Office will be Westbrook, Maine
  • Must have State of Maine Master Limited Energy License
  • Must have a minimum of 5 Years Commercial Installation experience.
  • Electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Will train apprentices as required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to always operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner.
  • Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.
  • Advanced computer skills required.
  • No fear of heights
  • No Color Blindness
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, drive for extended periods of time.
  • Travel is required - MA, NH and Maine - some overnight and weekends may be required with notice
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to explain technical information to non-technical people.
  • Valid Driver's license with a clean record.
  • A Background Check and Pre-Employment Drug Test is Required.

Preferred

  • NICET II Certification.
  • Access Control certifications.
  • CCTV certifications.
  • Experience bending conduit.
  • Massachusetts Class D License
