What you will do:

* Working under the framework of Johnson Controls Continuous Improvement & Production system, will assess current state performance, identify gaps, visualize and establish a plan to get to the future state, monitor progress and share/acquire best-in-class ideas and systems.

* Leads and assists with process improvements as part of the Johnson Controls Manufacturing System (JCMS); ensures integration and alignment across the organization. Defines improvement projects aligned with business strategies and priorities.

* Facilitates and coaches improvement teams. Establishes and maintains performance metrics to measure program success.

* Utilize Lean and change management methodologies and have appropriate levels of certification for the role.

* Support site Lean Manager in the actions and plans to achieve business goals in safety, quality, delivery, cost and people development.

* Establish and execute improvement projects using lean and simple problem tools.

How you will do it:

* Support closure to performance gaps in Best Business Practice Metrics (BBP's) working with all levels of the plant for improving them.

* Support the measurement and understanding of the current state of the plant's Operations; including the implementation plan to improve based on data and input from the area owners.

* Collaborate with leadership to work on the plant C.I. Roadmap, supporting breakthrough or Best-in-Class performance that balances resources between internal plant efficiency and external customer - focused effectiveness projects through 1. Just DO It improvements, 2. Simple problem solving projects, 3. Organizational health projects, and 4. Lean Implementation projects. 5. New equipment related projects or equipment relocations.

* Assist site Lean Manager in any strategic initiative that will help in compliance to standards, implementing new systems, and designing creative solutions that will continuously improve the plant.

* Lead, coach and guide team members with use of lean and simple problem solving tools through completion of projects.

* Assists Process Owners in identifying barriers to project success and helps to drive changes when needed. Document improvement process learning and shares best practices with other lean leaders.

* Ensures Process Owner involvement in standard work development and team leadership.

* Works with support departments such as quality, engineering, maintenance and high performance teams to collaborate on process improvements as well as reliability related projects

What we look for:

Required

* Must have a HS Diploma or equivalent.

* Five or more years of experience supporting manufacturing to improve methods and processes.

* Project management skills able to manage / lead 3+ project simultaneously with a strong ability to complete projects accurately, within budget, and in a timely manner a plus.

* Demonstrated change leader in safety culture, lean culture and process improvement.

* Demonstrated use of lean or simple problems solving tools as part of their work history including educating of others on their use.

Preferred

* Associates degree in Engineering Technology or Manufacturing or relevant discipline from an accredited university or equivalent experience. This includes skilled trades degrees.

* Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing including leading Kaizen events.

* Proficient with use of computer and software applications including Minitab, Microsoft project, Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

* Good analytical and quantitative skills.

* Strong oral and written communication skills.

* Lean and/or Six Sigma certification.
