Overview

SMS is looking for a Plans and Programs Coordinator on the Kirtland C4 Contract in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The Plans and Programs Coordinator is responsible for working with the customer on projects as required. Assists in the evaluation of customer projects and coordinate responses from multiple work centers. Conducts data-calls as required in support of customer assigned projects. Develop/Manage a Master Integrated Schedule, track milestones, major projects, and completion dates for contractor-initiated projects. Coordinate programs with the designated government POC and appropriate work center(s) as required. Provide inputs into the Communication Division spend plan, Data Center consolidation, and other databases related to IT planning and budgeting. Improve IT services by using proven best practice processes such as ITIL.

Responsibilities

    Attend meetings with Government entities to discuss ongoing government involved projects and to determine the action items needed from SMS for coordination with PM
  • Act as the primary liaison between contract management, government staff, and the technical support team to include communication updates between the Government staff and Program Manager
  • Coordinates with asset management team on inventory control requirements
  • Provide assistance and project tracking to Mission Systems Manager
  • Provide assistance on training needs with Quality Assurance Manager and Operations Manager
  • Review documents for Tongue and Quill efficacy, providing feedback to the sender
  • Create After Action reports to determine root cause and identify process gaps or shortcomings
  • Create comprehensive tracking documentation for organization of all SMS involved plans and future plans
  • Act as Quality Assurance Representative, assisting in Equipment Evaluations and documenting findings
  • Review Quality Assurance Control Plan and make edits once annually
  • Provide assistance to Quality Assurance Manager in obtaining metric result information for monthly deliverable report
  • Attend Project Walkthroughs as required and document agreements made verbally
  • Assists with creation, development, and tracking of unit unfunded requests as needs arise.
  • Act as a Communications representative for the Emergency Operations Center as needed, requiring occasional after-hours work.


Qualifications

Experience/Skills

  • Knowledge in Project Management
  • Background in IT preferred
  • Coordinates with the customer on specific requirements
  • Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, meet with the customer tactfully and courteously and establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with customers and coworkers
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio and Project
  • 3+ years IT Project Management or IT Operations Management experience preferred

Qualifications

  • Applicant must possess refined critical thinking skills, should be a self-starter, and possess the ability to direct the activities of other team members.
  • Applicant must be diplomatic, multi-task capable, adaptive to a dynamic environment, dependable and reliable.
  • Valid Driver's License Required
  • Requires a SECRET security clearance
  • Project Manager certification, Certified Associate Project Manager or Project Manager Professional preferred
