Job Summary

The Health Educator III plans, develops, implements, and evaluates statewide immunization education and training projects to improve immunization levels. The Health Educator III coordinates statewide immunization education campaigns and strategies with providers, local health departments and agencies serving vulnerable populations, including ethnic/minority community groups. The Health Educator III serves as a technical authority in the area of community health education and health communications. Overall, this position requires creative administrative and organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and the ability to function independently and within a team. The incumbent must have a strong background in public health, health communications, familiarity with medical terminolgy and research methods, along with project management skills.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $80,200 - $120,300 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Communications or related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Minimum 3+ years of directly relevant experience
  • Thorough knowledge of the health promotion, health communications and education field
  • Thorough knowledge of the design and delivery of related programs
  • Skills associated with both the development and delivery of health education programs and services
  • Effective interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse client groups
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and respond to client needs
  • Ability to build and strengthen partnerships with new and existing stakeholders
  • Ability to coordinate and conduct webinars
  • Ability to update websites using content management systems
  • Strong project management skills
  • Previous experience remediating documents for ADA compliance

Preferred Qualifications


  • Master's degree in Public Health, Communications or related area and/or equivalent experiences / training
  • Previous experience translating health education materials into Spanish
  • Previous experience using Microsoft Dynamics
