Summary:
The Security Regulatory & Compliance Manager is responsible for the development, maintenance and oversight of administrative processes and systems in support of the Security Management Program for Maine Medical Center (MMC). Drawing on a broad understanding of the healthcare security industry, this position is responsible for assuring that the security program continually meets the changing regulatory requirements agencies which include and are not limited to The Joint Commission, CMMS, Life Safety Code, HIPPA and other relevant standards; and the continually changing operational needs of MMC, taking into account our overarching need to be a patient-centered organization. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external departments to enable organizational ownership of and active participation in the security management plan. This position is responsible and accountable for oversight and management and ultimately the performance of the outsourced parking and transportation partner with a budgetary responsibility exceeding 1.3 million dollars annually. This position is an integral part of the Security and Parking Leadership Team and when necessary is called upon to serve as acting department Manager.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: IAHSS Basic certification within six months of hire. IAHSS Supervisory and Safety certificates within one year of hire.
  3. Experience: Minimum of five years of hospital experience and working knowledge of the healthcare security industry and management practices.
  4. Demonstrates analytical skills necessary to be forward thinking, problem solving and ability to communicate Professional reports using established metrics with hospital software systems. Proficient working with MS Excel.
  5. Works with I.T. and Facilities to ensure that new projects are assessed from a Security perspective and works with those teams to develop identified needs. Communicates new systems or staffing requirements to the Operations Manager of Security.
  6. Project management skills are required. Able to keep Security Director, Manager and stakeholders fully informed of multiple projects. Makes excellent presentations of completed projects. Excels in vitalizing stalled projects
