POSITION SUMMARY

The Reliability Engineer will manage and assist with the execution of the Sites' Reliability Programs. The RE will ensure program elements are executed properly and that results are communicated to leadership as appropriate. RE will provide technical leadership for the programs to the Maintenance Technicians and the area Engineers. The RE will work on continuous improvements items associated with the program elements to ensure they are in alignment with the strategic vision and Master Plan for the Reliability and Maintenance groups. The RE is responsible for promoting and implementing the use of Reliability concepts and techniques across the Site to help maximize equipment uptime and operating efficiencies as well as optimize asset lifecycle costs.

The Reliability Engineer will also have the primary responsibility of providing Reliability and Maintenance engineering support to capital projects involved with installation/modification of assets at the Site. RE will work with the Project Engineering group to ensure all new assets are installed per Zoetis Equipment Standards where applicable. RE will work as the liaison between the area support Engineers and the Project Engineering group to ensure all appropriate Reliability and Maintenance items are incorporated into the design where feasible. RE will have the primary responsibility for establishing the initial Reliability Plan for all new assets installed at the Site. By providing the primary support to asset related capital projects across the Site, the RE role will help ensure a consistent focus by the area RME's on the improvement opportunities in their respective Value Streams. This will help each Value stream more effectively achieve their production/business goals.

The RE will be the primary resource for all Global Reliability Engineering initiatives occurring at the site. The RE will serve as the liaison between the Site and the Global Reliability Engineering group.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage Reliability Programs

  • Manage the day to day execution of the Sites' Condition Based Monitoring programs (Vibration, IR, MCE, Ultrasonic, Oil Analysis)
  • Manage the day to day execution of the Sites' Lubrication program.
  • Execute the Bad Actor process.
  • Execute the Failure Analysis, Reporting and Corrective Action program (FRACAS).
  • Manage the PM & Calibration programs.
  • Execute the PM Pass/Fail process.
  • Update and implement the Criticality ranking process.
  • Develop and execute Failure Mode and Effects Analyses.
  • Manage the Request For Inventory/Spare Part process.
  • Manage the Operator Care program.
  • Manages Site Equipment Standards.
  • Develop and report Reliability related metrics.
  • Update program related SOPs.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement items for the Sites' programs.

Project Support

  • Provides "Design for Reliability" input to capital projects with respect to equipment specifications that create project approaches which minimize life cycle costs.
  • Provides Life Cycle Cost Modeling and Statistical Analysis to Project Engineering for equipment design and selection.
  • Works as liaison between area Engineers and projects to ensure Engineers are kept up to date on projects in their respective areas.
  • Ensures knowledge/requests from area Engineers is incorporated into the project where feasible.
  • Determines and develops initials Reliability Plan for new assets (PM approach, PM plans, PM tasks, Calibrations, Lubrication, CBM, Spare parts, etc...) or modifies existing plans as needed.
  • Develop and submit appropriate documentation and change control records for establishing Reliability Plan elements (i.e. DAC's, RFI's, ZACK submittals).
  • Ensures effective turnover of Reliability Plan to area Engineers.

Global Support

  • Support global reliability program initiatives.
  • Site liaison for global initiatives.

General Responsibilities

  • Promotes the use of Reliability Engineering concepts and tools to the Engineering, Maintenance, and Production departments.
  • Provides technical support for Reliability tools/techniques.
  • Assists with executions of Failure Analyses, Weibull Analyses, Crow-AMSAA calculations, FMEA's, LCC's.
  • Develops training material for Reliability tools/concepts and provides training to Maintenance, Engineering, and Production personnel.
  • Support Site Reliability, Global Reliability, TPM, and Op Ex initiatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's level degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering preferred)
  • 1 - 3 years of experience (experience working in a pharmaceutical environment preferred).
  • Experience working with CMMS systems (SAP preferred).
  • Knowledge of respective reliability techniques, practices, precedents, theory, and principles.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing and packaging equipment or utility systems and equipment.
  • Able to understand equipment reliability principles, maintenance work processes, and the interfaces with other functional groups.
  • Good computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, or other applicable computer software.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to positively interact with all levels of the Zoetis organization.
