Job Overview The University of Cincinnati Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) is searching for a faculty member who will contribute primarilyto the department's clinical supervision of graduate students,with secondary responsibilities of teaching, service, andresearch/scholarship.The onsite Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic has an educational mission and provides approximately 2,500 patient appointments per year. There is a large pediatric client population enrolled during summer. This is a 12-month per year, full-time clinical track faculty position with rank commensurate with education and experience. The preferred start date is in the Fall 2025. Essential Functions This position is primarily responsible for clinical supervision, with secondary responsibilities of teaching, service and scholarship to the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) and College of Allied Health Sciences. Primary responsibilities include clinical supervision, mentoring and retention, and contributing to the growth of the CSD department's onsite Speech Language & Hearing Clinic and/or related UC speech-language pathology off campus clinical programs. Teaching and service responsibilities include, but are not limited to, course development, primary instruction of didactic courses in both face-to-face and online delivery modalities; participation in student recruitment, retention, and admissions activities; participation in program committee work including program evaluation, accreditation tasks, and other activities as assigned by Department Head. While clinical supervision in speech-language pathology is central to this position, instruction, service, and scholarship activities are also required consistent with the missions and faculty evaluative criteria of the University, College, and Department. Minimum Requirements Master's degree in speech-language pathology Active membership with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) Eligibility for Ohio licensure to practice as a speech-language pathologist such that licensure will be valid by the position start date Three or more years' experience in providing speech-language pathology services Three or more years' supervising/mentoring experiences with graduate students in an SLP Program Current knowledge and skill in the use of computer technology Strong organizational skills; strong interpersonal skills including communication, problem solving, counseling, conflict management, and follow-through Ability to work independently Committed to collaboration with an interdisciplinary team Assist with tasks assigned by CSD Department Chair Additional Qualifications Considered Current Ohio licensure to practice as a speech-language pathologist Experience with electronic health records as well as procedure and diagnostic coding Experience in clinic management/administration Experience with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Calipso) Active in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels Application Requirements Cover Letter CV/Resume Clinical Supervision Statement Contact information for Three References If an applicant has prior teaching or supervision experience, course evaluations and/or clinical supervision evaluations will be required for an on-campus interview, if selected Questions should be directed to Dr. Carney Sotto at: sottocd@ucmail.uc.edu Compensation and Benefits UC offers an exceptional benefits package designed to support your well-being, financial security, and work-life balance.
