Job Description

We're looking for a passionate Technical Program Manager to join VMS/VCA team. Your primary role is to manage the daily activities in the program and remove hurdles from an executing dev team to sustainably deliver value for our clients.

Your work will be framed by three questions:

1. Quality requirements: Do the engineers and stakeholders have all the documentation and knowledge needed to deliver value for our customers and business?

2. Agile & lean practices: How can we ensure a culture of continuous learning when it comes to agile and lean practices?

3. Delivery Management: What can be done to identify and remove all impediments faced by the scrum teams in delivering value for our customers?

What we expect of you, day to day:

  • This role is responsible for successful delivery of client technical implementations, working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Develop effective relationships with the engaged parties - external and internal.
  • Translate business and technical areas into actionable project tasks and communicate independently to the leadership.
  • Ensuring requirements are at just the right level of detail to take into sprint, including functional & non-functional requirements.
  • Providing clear technical and managerial reviews regularly to the technical team and remove impediments from execution
  • Manage client expectations, as well as change request, if required.
  • Work closely with all key stakeholders to develop and track milestones and coordinate moving pieces effectively and efficiently to stay on track.
  • Provide recurring progress/ status updates, including steerco updates, to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactively anticipate potential risks, create appropriate mitigation plans, and escalate issues, as necessary.
  • Hold all parties, vendor included, accountable for their assignment performances ensuring high quality and adherence to plans.
  • Manage and track monthly time utilization of vendor resources.
  • Participate, understand and action on technical areas to enable the tech team progress
  • Collaborating in the writing of epics and user stories
  • Doing what is needed to unblock the scrum teams during the sprint
  • Reporting and managing operational delivery metrics
  • Holding the team accountable for their delivery commitments and coaching continuous improvement
  • Leading/coordinating standard agile ceremonies for business-critical initiatives and complex assignments related to size or technical build
  • Suggesting improvements to agile ways of working

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
  • Preferred Agile certification with Scrum or other equivalent expertise
  • Strong understanding and experience in program/ project management , Agile and software delivery lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Software Release Management and deployment experience (historic)
  • Working knowledge of J2EE framework, REST / API framework, Cloud infra, micro services and distributed architecture, Digital Channel development (mobile / Web)
  • Enterprise technology solution delivery experience
  • Payment domain experience including but not limited to money movement, dispute/pre-dispute, installments, workflow orchestration, core banking, etc. for consumer, small business and commercial clients
  • Payment domain technology consulting experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 120,900 to 175,400 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
