A REMOTE Principal FPGA Design Engineer job working remote from anywhere in the U.S. is currently available through Belcan at one of our key aerospace clients. This is a part-time position. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor"s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, and extensive experience designing FPGAs/ASICs. Experience in aerospace and defense projects is strongly preferred. In this role, you will be responsible for front end RTL design based on Systems level and unit level requirements, design modules, simulating units to meet performance, and feature functionality. Able to provide jr. engineers with guidance in all areas for front end design including: RTL coding, fpga IP selection, synthesis place & route, developing constraints, clock and RESET considerations and simulation results analysis techniques.
Job Duties:
*Generate detailed RTL design model to meet program feature and performance requirements.
*Meet all the documentation needs of an aerospace development project
*Support program deliverables, meet schedule milestones.
*Coordinate and Direct other members on the team to complete design efforts.
*Interface with customer in providing status and addressing opens, queries.
*Serve and a consultant in solving design issues, root causing bugs and meeting
Qualifications:
*Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related discipline, advanced degree preferred.
*Ten plus years of experience designing and developing front end design artifacts for FPGAs/ASICs from concept through production. Aerospace experience required.
*Extensive experience with design, documentation, debugging, root causing, timing, reset strategies, performance testing, corner case analysis and meeting the rigors of a DO-254 DAL-A design
*Experience in DO-254 development environment, documentation, process practices.
*Strong knowledge of industry standard design tools and methodologies
*Strong communication and collaboration skills
*Excellent analytical, root cause, debugging and analytical skills
* Due to the nature of the work performed, US Citizenship is a requirement.
We offer a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $200,000 to $225,000.
