The Position
About this Opportunity The Head of Strategic Change Leadership will lead the development and execution of comprehensive change management strategies and plans across the Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG) teams. This role is pivotal in driving cross-functional innovation, ensuring the successful adoption of key organizational capabilities, driving alignment with strategic business initiatives, fostering a culture of resilience, adaptability and continuous improvement. The incumbent will lead a team of change management professionals and collaborate closely with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to maximize the positive impact of change initiatives on patient outcomes and minimize disruptions. This leader will also facilitate effective stakeholder engagement, and capability-building programs that support successful change. Key Responsibilities: Strategy Development and Execution
Serve as a strategic advisor and thought leader in the domain of strategic transformation Conduct diagnostic assessments to identify change readiness, gaps, and opportunities, and use these insights to develop, adapt, and implement strategic change management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices tailored to the specific needs of the CMG teams. Focus curricula development on people leaders and managers responsible for leading organisational change followed by individuals going through the change curve Build an employee and people manager narrative across strategic initiatives to help talent value the impact of business transformation on the company, their team, and their role. Define change management scope, objectives, and success metrics in alignment with organizational goals and project timelines. Proactively identify potential risks and resistance points associated with change initiatives and develop mitigation strategies including systemic pattern identification for sustainability, negative behavior patterns and drive breakthrough results. Proactively identify potential risks, resistance points, and systemic patterns across the CMG teams that may impact change initiatives, and develop targeted mitigation strategies to address them.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of change and capability experts, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and results-oriented environment. Provide guidance and support to team members in the development and execution of change management plans. Identify and address team training and development needs to enhance change management capabilities across the CMG organization. Leverage an indirect network of change champions across the organization to scale change actions and narrative.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, department heads, and key stakeholders across the CMG teams to ensure alignment and buy-in for change initiatives. Provide direct coaching to senior leaders where needed Develop and deliver clear, concise, and compelling communication plans to effectively inform and engage stakeholders throughout the change process. Facilitate stakeholder analysis to understand the needs and perspectives of diverse groups and tailor change management approaches accordingly.
Change Implementation and Monitoring
Oversee the development and implementation of change management plans in partnership with Product and Activation teams across CMG. Collaborate with Product teams to integrate change management activities into project plans and timelines. Harmonize associated change management efforts across partner teams including communications, human resources, and training. Monitor the effectiveness of change management initiatives, track progress against metrics, and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
Organizational Change Capability Building
Promote change management best practices and methodologies throughout the CMG organization. Effectively partner with the Learning & Skill Development team to develop and deliver training programs to equip employees with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate change effectively. Establish and maintain a network of change champions across the CMG teams to support change adoption and sustainability.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field; Master's degree or certification in Change Management preferred. 12+ years of progressive experience in change management, with a focus on leading large-scale organizational change initiatives within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. 8+ years of experience leading and managing a team of change management professionals. Experience leading large enterprise-wide strategic initiatives that impact multiple functions Deep understanding of the Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs functions within a pharmaceutical organization. Proficient in coaching senior leadership teams to create the conditions for high performance and develop the critical capabilities required to lead organizational change effectively. Proven ability to develop and execute successful change management strategies in complex and rapidly changing environments. Systems thinker who understands the importance of change across people, process, technology and culture. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus at all levels of the organization. Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize, manage, and deliver multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci ADKAR, Kotter's Change Management Model) and tools. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed organization and build strong cross-functional relationships. Professional Certified Coach (PCC), International Coaching Federation (ICF) - Demonstrated expertise and experience in coaching leaders, with a strong foundation in core coaching competencies and ethics. Change Management Professional (e.g., CCMP, Prosci) certification is highly desirable.
Location
This position is based in South San Francisco, CA and offers a hybrid schedule working in the office 3 days per week. No relocation package is available for this role.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $191,000.00 - $354,600. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
