Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a CRM Developer to join the Information Technology department in a teleworking arrangement. Reporting to the Director of CRM Systems, the Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) Developer is responsible for developing solutions on the Salesforce platform, which is the foundation of the University's Customer/Constituent Relationship Management system. The CRM Developer shares in the responsibility of supporting the University's Salesforce environment both operationally and through new projects. The CRM Developer will work closely with Enrollment Management, Student Retention, Corporate Relations, and Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement to provide technology solutions that better enable them to meet their strategic and operational goals.

The CRM Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable Salesforce solutions that support the University's mission-critical operations. This role collaborates closely with other IT Professionals and business stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that enhance platform functionality, streamline processes, and drive operational efficiency. The CRM Developer ensures all solutions adhere to best practices in development, security, and scalability while aligning with the University's strategic objectives. This position requires a strong technical foundation in Salesforce development, the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity and performance of the University's CRM ecosystem.

The CRM Developer leverages expertise in Salesforce development, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, and Salesforce APIs, to design, develop, and deploy custom solutions that meet the University's business needs. A strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, data model, and security features is essential to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with best practices.

  • Design, develop, and deploy custom Salesforce solutions, including custom objects, workflows, triggers, Apex classes, Lightning Web Components, and integrations with third-party systems. Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions. Automate business processes using Salesforce Flow and other automation tools. Optimize existing Salesforce configurations, code, and automation to improve performance and usability. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce Analysts and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Manage Salesforce environments, including sandbox and production, ensuring proper version control, deployment processes, and data integrity, especially as it relates to the software development life cycle.
  • Implement and maintain Salesforce security best practices, including role hierarchies, sharing rules, and field-level security in coordination with the Senior CRM Analyst and CRM Administrator.
  • Document technical designs, code, and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance with University standards.
  • Stay current with Salesforce releases, features, trends, and industry best practices, and recommend improvements to existing systems, especially as related to the educational environment.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree: Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Salesforce Certified Administrator or Salesforce Platform Developer I certification preferred

3+ years of experience in Salesforce development, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, and Salesforce APIs.

Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, data model, and security features.

Experience with Salesforce integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, or ETL tools. Proficiency in Salesforce declarative tools (Flow, Process Builder, Workflow Rules).

Experience with web development and design languages such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, as it relates to Salesforce development.
