Position Summary
This position is in the Department of Genetics in Katie Billmyre's lab. This position will help support a research program focused on meiotic chromosome biology with a focus on chromosome-specific behaviors in Drosophila (fruit flies). This will include the use of molecular genetics, microscopy, and image analysis to understand how unique chromosome features influence meiotic outcomes and to investigate the structure and function of meiotic proteins. The employee will assist with lab organization and management (such as inventory, ordering, managing lab protocols, safety regulations, and providing general lab support). Additionally, they will work alongside lab members on research projects. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask are essential.
