GENERAL SUMMARY

The AVP/VP, Regulatory Issues Risk Manager is a strategic position supporting and enhancing the effectiveness of the SVP, Regulatory Relations, Issue Management, Governance, and Reporting. The AVP/VP, Regulatory Issues Risk Manager will leverage expertise in process design, regulatory examination, risk assessment, and stakeholder communications to optimize risk-related frameworks and reporting structures within the Bank. This position requires proven skills in governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, and collaboration across complex organizational structures. The AVP/VP, Regulatory Issues Risk Manager must possess sound judgement and discretion with respect to confidential regulatory needs or any matters of significance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Regulatory Relations:



  • Coordinate regulatory exam requirements, ensuring responsiveness and quality of documentary evidence.
  • Manage regulatory inquiries, maintaining timely, consistent, and comprehensive responses.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and tracking systems for regulatory deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to deliver consistent and coherent responses to regulatory bodies.
  • Proactively update senior management on status of regulatory engagements and escalate significant matters effectively.
    Issues Management:
  • Oversee and facilitate the Bank's issue management processes by promoting proactive identification, tracking, and remediation of issues.
  • Develop and enhance processes and systems for comprehensive issue tracking, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal audit, compliance, and various business lines to ensure timely escalation and resolution.
  • Lead root cause analyses for critical issues and ensure actionable remediation occurs in a timely manner.


Governance:



  • Manage the organization and preparation of leadership and board-level meeting materials, ensuring accuracy and actionable insights.
  • Evaluate and improve governance processes and internal committees, while clarifying roles, authority, and decision-making processes.
  • Maintain effective documentation for internal governance forums, managing calendars and business rhythms proactively.


Reporting:



  • Engage with stakeholders to implement clear, actionable reporting solutions aligned with data governance standards.
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly reporting to regulators, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
  • Drive the development of issue management reports with sufficient detail to ensure informed and accountable remediation.
  • Support topical reporting and scheduling, ensuring reports are insightful and actionable.


Team and Business Support:



  • Provide support for department operations as needed.
  • Undertake additional strategic and operational activities as directed by the SVP and CRO.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field required.


Experience:



  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in risk management, regulatory relations, issues management, compliance coordination, and executive-level reporting within financial services.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing regulatory examinations, governance structures, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in procedural documentation, communication strategies, and stakeholder engagement.


Skills/Ability:



  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Tableau, Visio, and FileNet.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with demonstrated capability in managing documentation, audits, and regulatory reviews.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to executive leadership and regulatory bodies.
  • Proven project and stakeholder management capabilities, including cross-functional coordination and requirements gathering.
  • Ability to multitask effectively, managing multiple deadlines and projects with high attention to detail.
  • High degree of professionalism and discretion.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Collaborative team player skilled in building partnerships across diverse teams and senior management



OTHER DETAILS

$96K - $122K / year
Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
