JOB TITLE:

Digital Engagement Specialist

JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Associate Director of the University of Wyoming Alumni Association (UWAA), the Digital Marketing Specialist leads and manages the strategy, creation, and coordination of digital content. This strategy aims to strengthen alumni engagement with valuable, relevant and consistent content and information. This role works closely with the UWAA team, UW Foundation marketing team, Institutional Marketing, and other campus partners to promote alumni programs, regional and affinity networks, and events. The specialist ensures a cohesive brand presence across multiple channels -including social media, email, web, and print. The specialist will provide expertise in data-driven decision-making and strategy to maximize reach and connection with alumni audiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage a comprehensive digital engagement and communication strategy that supports the University of Wyoming Alumni Association's (UWAA) mission, programs, and events. Ensure all messaging is timely, relevant, and aligned with priorities.
  • Manage the development and execution of key communication strategies, in collaboration with the UW Foundation marketing team, including but not limited to:
    • UWAA Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and X)
    • UWAA Website
    • Monthly Alumni Insider video - highlights campus updates
    • AlumNews section in the UWyo Magazine (three issues per year)
    • Career Celebrations (quarterly personalized videos recognizing alumni career achievements)
  • Collaborate with the UWAA team, UW Foundation marketing team, Institutional Marketing, and other campus partners to create and coordinate consistent messaging and branding across all digital platforms and communication channels.
  • Collect, track, and interpret digital engagement performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators to inform strategy and demonstrate outcomes. Recommend and implement optimization improvements based on data analysis.
  • Manage software platforms related to digital engagement.
  • Provide photo and/or video coverage of UWAA events as needed.
  • Supervise and mentor intern(s).
  • Stay informed on trends and industry best practices in digital marketing, alumni relations, and higher education communications. Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skillsets and maintain innovation in UWAA strategy.
  • Manage the digital engagement and communication budget.


SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Provide assistance on engagement projects and miscellaneous duties, as needed/directed.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the United States. Sponsorship for H-1B work authorization or work visa is not available for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: 3 years work-related experience, including extensive knowledge with digital marketing and communication strategies.

Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.

Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements:

Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy .

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with digital engagement and communication for a business or higher education entity.
  • Experience with higher education external relations as a student or professional.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse constituencies and teams.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple competing priorities with minimal oversight.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience with using artificial intelligence (AI) tools such as ChatGPT to support marketing and communications efforts to enhance creativity, efficiency, and audience engagement.
