 Write programs at the controller for a variety of parts using Mazatrol and FANUC controllersReads & interprets engineering drawingsAlign and secure material on the machine, position pieces to be machined into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand toolsAbility to specify and manage proper tooling for the part/jobKnowledge of the appropriate application of selected toolingDetect worn tooling and adjust to ensure tolerances are metUnloading inbound trucks using forklifts and overhead cranesLocating material and verifying grade, size, and quantity by visually inspecting and physically measuring the materialInspects all completed work for conformance to required material specificationsAll other duties as assigned, or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice
Requirements
      
        
 Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skillsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredMinimum 1-3 years of work experience operating CNC vertical machining centersWorking knowledge of FANUC & Mazatrol controllersWorking knowledge of G and M codes as related to vertical machining centersWorking knowledge of CAD software related to CNC machiningAdvanced math skills and the ability to calculate feeds and speeds requiredKnowledge of and ability to use a tape measure, micrometer, and caliper are a mustForklift and/or overhead crane experiencePhysical ability to pass the physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobilitySuccessful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding and new hire training
