Uncover business insights by collecting, processing, and analyzing raw data for clients in a variety of industries, with a focus on Healthcare and Life Sciences. Support the development of big data analytics and cloud-based applications using data-oriented programming languages. Design, build, test, launch, optimize, and extend full-stack data and business intelligence solutions spanning extraction, storage, complex transformation, and visualization layers. Support build of big data environments that enable analytics solutions on a variety of big data platforms. Assess, capture, and translate complex business issues and solution requirements into structured technical tasks for the data engineering team. Provide technical guidance to more junior team members. Assess the usefulness of new technologies and advocate for their adoption. Serve as the primary point of contact for questions and escalations related to data architecture, handling, processing, storage, and solutions, including solutions that comply with HIPPA and the HITECH Act. Utilize a hypothesis-driven problem-solving approach to design, construct, and rapidly test exploratory analyses that reveal data-based insights, identify business opportunities, and facilitate M&A deals for clients in Healthcare and Life Sciences. WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience. Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following: Working in the healthcare claims domain; Analyzing CMS-LDS datasets to build solutions targeted towards lowering claim processing time, maximizing revenue collection, exploring new markets, and performing ad-hoc analysis to answer questions to facilitate M&A deals; Handling, securely processing, and storing Healthcare and Life Sciences data, including PHI and PII information; Creating data solutions that comply with HIPAA and the HITECH Act; Creating and maintaining ETL and ELT pipelines; Performing operational programming tasks, including version control and CI/CD; Testing and quality assurance within cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, or GCP; Apache data projects, including Hadoop, Spark, Hive, or Airflow; Utilizing Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Data Factory; SDLC methodologies, including Agile and Azure DevOps; and Using Python, Scala, R, Java, Golang, Kotlin, C, or C++. Travel to various locations throughout the US required up to 20%. Telecommuting may be permitted within commutable distance from the office location, depending on business need.
