Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager - Marine & Power Systems (MRO Focus)
Job Title: Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager - Marine & Power Systems (MRO Focus) Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL Department: Supply Chain Reports To: Supply Chain Leader Work Type: Full-Time | On-Site Travel: Up to 25% Direct Reports: 3 (Purchasing Lead + 2 Buyers) Compensation: $110,000 - $140,000 per year (based on experience) Bonus: Eligible for annual performance bonus
Drive Strategic Sourcing for Mission-Critical MRO & Engine Systems
MSHS Pacific Power Group is seeking a senior-level sourcing professional with direct experience in technical procurement within the marine, maritime, power generation, defense, or heavy industrial sectors. If you've led strategic sourcing efforts for MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) categories and engine systems, and have the business acumen to drive cost-effective supplier strategies, this role is built for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic sourcing for diesel engines, power generation equipment, engine controls, and all MRO-related components
- Oversee full-cycle procurement operations: RFP creation, supplier vetting, contract negotiation, and risk management
- Build and manage relationships with technical vendors for quality, cost, and reliability
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, trade regulations, and aerospace/defense procurement policies
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance to align procurement with business goals
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 3 direct reports (Purchasing Lead + 2 Buyers)
- Drive cost savings, performance improvements, and supplier accountability
Required Qualifications
- 7-10+ years of experience in procurement or strategic sourcing (Note: Not applicable to warehouse, retail, or logistics-only backgrounds)
- Proven background sourcing MRO parts, engine components, or industrial systems
- Industry experience required in one or more: marine, maritime, power generation, industrial equipment, defense systems
- Strong expertise in contract negotiation, supplier management, and pricing strategy
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
- This role does not include warehouse, retail, or logistics responsibilities. Experience in those areas alone will not meet minimum qualifications.
Desired Skills
- Certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, CPM, or equivalent
- Knowledge of import/export regulations and global supplier management
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, DoD sourcing requirements, or other regulated environments
- ERP-savvy: Experience with Infor/Syteline, Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI, or similar platforms
